I'm sorry but its obvious to me that she is no longer with us. Why is it not obvious to her family? I know they don't want to believe it's true....but c'mon. I guess I wouldn't want to believe it either.
Nevermind.

http://www.examiner.com/x-34328-Seat...by-her-husbandA new website, www.susanpowell.org, has many people confused and asking questions.
There is chatter on the Friends and Family of Susan Powell Facebook page about the new website. The general consensus seems to be that the fire in the photo may have been added to the picture.
Some believe the picture is distasteful given the circumstances surrounding Susan's disappearance and Josh Powell, Susan's husband's, largely disbelieved story that he took his kids camping in the middle of the night during a Utah snowstorm the night she disappeared.
[...]
According to Connect2Utah.com, Susan's friend Kiirsi Hellewell says Josh told her in December he intended to set up a site in his wife's honor.
Shelby Gifford, a spokesperson for Susan's family, says if the site is established by Josh then he should instead spend his time looking for his wife or talking to the police. "I don't think there is any credibility to the website at all," Gifford told Connect2Utah.com. "I think if Josh really is sincerely involved in this website and he is truly interested in finding his wife he certainly has passed up multiple opportunities to do that."
The site claims there are other websites about Susan but that it is the only source of new photos, videos, and even Susan's own words.
[...]
It's unclear if Josh Powell created the site or someone very close to the family, someone who would be involved in their day-to-day life.
http://www.komonews.com/news/85744947.htmlTensions are rising in the search for missing Puyallup native Susan Powell, who disappeared after dark Dec. 6 under mysterious circumstances.
Volunteers are frustrated after the fliers they posted about Susan in her husband's neighborhood were torn down.
Now the president of the Country Hollow Homeowners' Association has made them take down the rest of the fliers, which are designed to raise awareness about Susan's disappearance.
"The regulations of the community do not allow any posting of signs on community property," he told the volunteers. "As the president of the association, I have to tell you."
Colleen Russell and her friends taped the signs to light poles and put up purple ribbons on trees in the gated community where they live.
"I don't think the homeowners' association understands that that was Susan's favorite color," Russell says. "We're not accusing anything - we just want to find Susan and bring her home."
Susan Powell's husband Josh moved to Country Hollow with their two sons from Salt Lake City, where she vanished. He is considered a person of interest in the case.
[...]
Susan Powell's father, Chuck Cox, is disappointed the fliers have to come down.
"I still have hope, and I can't deny it's been almost three months. And the likelihood now is if she is not being captive somewhere then she is no longer with us," he said.

They would have taken the fliers down even if it was for a church supper or a school play. Against the rules.
I bet the whole neighborhood knows the story anyway without the fliers.

yeah I know I would just kinda hope with the circumstances they would maybe bend the rules a bit for a missing mom,but if you bend them once then everyone wants them bent

The need to find a body or Susan. I think they are looking for a body. but why isn't this guy or is he on 24/7 Surveillance and why is he allowed to move so far away?
First they have to prove a crime was even committed by him. While I think one has been, it isn't enough to arrest him.
At this point, without proof otherwise, she could have run off and is in hiding or was kidnapped by someone else. Not that I think that is what happened, but it is still a possibility (remote).
Where he moved to makes no difference. They know where to find him. It's not like he skipped town and is in hiding. They may or may not have him under surveillance... although I don't know what for. I'm sure they have far more sophisticated ways of gathering clues and information.
I hope they find her soon.

http://www.abc4.com/mostpopular/stor...4SCy9R-tA.cspx[B][I]Even if true, does the alleged sighting of A missing womans husband mean anything?A handful of patrons and even some employees are sure they saw Josh Powell in their bar, Duces Wild, on Monday, December 7th -- the same day it was discovered his wife, Susan Cox Powell, was missing.
[...]
Either way, what does it matter?
The alleged sighting did not bring Susan Powell home.
As for the legal implications, ABC 4 turned to Daniel Medwed, a law professor at the University of Utah.
[...]
Professor Medwed said, "It goes to the purported alibi that Mr. Powell has been advancing for months now -- That he was in the west desert with his kids. This directly contradicts that alibi."However, the professor also noted that a good defense attorney would have little trouble shredding the story of Josh Powell in a strip bar.
[...]
The Next problem: There's a conflict with the timeline. The bartender at Duces Wild remembers the man identified as Josh Powell arriving at 2:00 p.m. and staying until 4:30 p.m. But Powell family friend JoVona Owings said she called Josh on his cell phone around 3:00 p.m. She believes during their conversation he was in his car, not a noisy bar. Conclusive? No, but it plants doubt in a juror's mind.
[...]
Sherman, a bar patron who sat next to the man he says was Josh Powell, remembered, "When I saw his face on TV, I said, 'Where do I know this guy from?' And then it came to me that I knew him from the bar."

I thought he took the kids out at night.
Leaving a bar at 4:30 p may be close to when the sun goes down, but it's not night.
Him being tanked however, may explain more things than not.

I heard or I remember I should say,her best friend was over for Sunday dinner
Her best friend left saying Susan was going to lie down for a nap
Her hubby said he deicded to take the kids all of a sudden in the snow

But why would you take a nap if it's night?
Maybe it's me but a nap is more of a middle of the day/afternoon thing.
If it's a couple/3 hours away from your normal bedtime why do that? It would just mean you'll be up a lot later than normal.
I think I am reading this wrong or something because it doesn't make sense. Or maybe everyone else takes naps a lot later than I would :)

Friends to search campsite for Susan Powell
http://www.komonews.com/news/88182582.htmlFriends of a Puyallup native missing since December plan a search of the remote desert area in Utah where the woman's husband says he was winter camping when she disappeared.
In a Facebook post, Kiirsi Hellewell says a search for Susan Powell will be held April 10 at the Simpson Springs campground area. Hellewell says volunteers are needed to conduct the daylong search.
Simpson Springs is about 110 miles southwest of Salt Lake City near the Pony Express Trail.

I have heard the word "nap" used as a euphemism for someone who'd gotten a bit drunk and needed to go lie down while the party was still on, - only of course I do not get the impression that these were drinking people?
His alibi is melting with the snow and hes so fucking stupid he doesnt get it.
I cant wait for them to slap cuffs on this loser
When hes finally in prison he can write a book on stupidity

My only fear is whether or not he has his kids with him. If he senses the walls are closing in, I fear for their safety.
Wasnt his own family doubting his story now?
I cant remember Ive read so many diff things
But Im sure his family was keeping close eye on him and he was living with or near his dads

[url]http://www.komonews.com/news/88714232.html[/urlMissing woman's father: Visit to campsite 'confirms it'
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- Susan Powell's father no longer believes his son-in-law's story has any credibility.
This week, Chuck Cox went to Simpson Springs in remote Tooele County in Utah. For the first time, he saw for himself the campground where Josh Powell claims he went the night his wife disappeared.
It has been more than three months since Susan Powell was last seen.
Josh Powell claims he left her at home on the night of Dec. 6 and drove his two boys the two hours to Simpson Springs, where they camped out and cooked s'mores.
Cox always had his doubts about his son-in-law's claims, but he had to see for himself.
He hit the road toward Simpson Springs, turning off the pavement and down the hard-packed dirt road in his car. And for the next hour, he wound his way through hills and down increasingly narrow roads.
"My daughter never would have let him out of the house with the kids that night to go camping," he said.
Josh Powell claims he made the journey down an unlit road with his kids in the dark of night as a major winter storm approached.
Cox believes on that December morning, the pass to the campsite would have been impassible, especially considering Josh Powell was driving a minivan with front-wheel drive and little clearance.
"You get pulled into there, get stuck real easily in a car like this," he said, seeing potentially problematic areas.
At the campground, Cox ran into a scout troop from Riverton. It just so happened the troop was also camping at Simpson Springs on the weekend of Dec. 6, and left just as the flurries were starting.
"i have never been in a camp that cold," one scout said.
To walk among the campsites of Simpson Springs was a revelation for the grieving father. His speculation hardened into belief. He now firmly believes that whatever happened that night did not happen at Simpson Springs.
"It confirms it. The only hard thing is thinking she could be out somewhere... a place like this," said Cox.]Camp Site

More reading at link.Examiner.com reported that a cement strip the size and shape of a human body was found in the West Desert in Utah by a person searching for clues into the disappearance of Susan Cox Powell.
There is a possibility the cement strip is nothing more than a dump truck driver cleaning out his load, yet there's a possibility it could be someone's loved one underneath the cement.
Regardless what it is, people believe it's worthy of an investigation. The Tooele County Sheriff's Office agreed to investigate.

http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=10254231A search for Susan Cox Powell set for Saturday, April 10th, has been closed to the public.
Scores of volunteers had planned to join in on the search of the Simpson Springs area where Susan's husband Josh said he took the children the night she disappeared in December of last year.
Several law enforcement agencies thought amateur searchers could get lost, fall down a mine shaft or destroy evidence.
The search will now be conducted by trained professionals.
Powell's friends and relatives say they appreciate the support but now agree experts will do a better job.

http://www.fox13now.com/news/kstu-po...,1614789.storyIDAHO FALLS, Idaho - The remains of a woman's body was found about 12 miles east of Idaho Falls in a remote area Friday by a motorist. West Valley City police confirm they have been in contact with Idaho police there as part of their investigation into the disappearance of Susan Powell. A local newspaper reported the body was found by a driver who pulled over, searching for a better cell phone signal.
West Valley police said the body has not yet been identified, but say it is likely not Susan Cox Powell.
"We just got a call back from them a little while ago. They're pretty confident that this is a female that has been missing from their area for approximately three years," said Capt. Tom MacLachlan of the West Valley City Police Department.
Police said there are two missing woman cases in Idaho Falls. One is of a woman who was reported missing in 2001, Amber Hoopse, and another woman, Stephanie Eldredge, was reported missing about five years ago. Authorities did not say whether they will be sending a detective to Idaho and are awaiting the results of an autopsy.
Susan Powell, a 28-year-old mother of two, was reported missing on Dec. 7, 2009 from her West Valley City home. Her husband, Josh Powell, who is the only person of interest in the case, told police he took his two young sons camping at around midnight Dec. 7 -- the same day his wife went missing. Police said in the hours after Susan vanished, Josh put hundreds of miles on a rental car. When female remains turned up a hundred miles away last week, West Valley police did not rule out any possibility.
"The case is still a missing person case that's very very suspicious, but we've not crossed that threshold yet to take it out of that classification," said MacLachlan.
The body is described as badly decomposed to the point of a skeleton, indicating it was there for years instead of a few months, according to Idaho police. Police said this information means that the body is likely not Susan Cox Powell.
Only I can't figure out who it MIGHT be other than Eldredge.

Happy Mother's Day Susan
http://susanpowell.org/Pages/Family/MothersDay.aspxHappy Mother’s Day Susan. You are the beloved mother of two beautiful boys, who remember you and miss you. We all hope you will come home soon.
The boys love plants and gardening just like you so they planted flowers for your honor on Mother's Day. Everyone in the household participated in various ways to make the day special. They enjoyed a special dinner and a cake. They also looked at family photos like they do almost every day
We hope you like the pictures, and are thinking about us as much as we are thinking about you.

The only person he's fooling is himself! I hope they find her soon so her family can have some closure followed swiftly by some JUSTICE! His "mid-night, mid-winter, Saturday..er..Sunday, smores fest" story is so rediculous that I can't believe he hasn't been arrested yet! I bet 99% of us here would convict him, and there is probably more evidence that we haven't heard yet!
If you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning!
