http://www.examiner.com/x-22460-Seat...ears-more-gtgtThe day before her disappearance Susan went to church with her two sons, Josh stayed home.
Susan walked home with her friend and neighbor, JoVonna Owings.
Owings stayed during the afternoon to help Susan untangle yarn.
Josh made pancakes and scrambled eggs for the family for dinner. Owings joined them.
At around 5:00 Owings went home and Susan went to rest because she wasn’t feeling well.
Josh took the boys sledding and returned at around 8:30 p.m.
At about 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 7, Susan went to bed for the night.
On a Sunday night, 12:30 am would be really late for a couple who have to work on Monday morning.
At about 12:37 a.m. Josh took his boys, ages 2 and 4, camping in subfreezing temperatures.
Not only did the boys go camping in subfreezing temps, they were taken the the great outdoors after midnight on a school night.
Josh said they slept in the family van.
Mon., Dec. 7, the Powell’s daycare provider becomes concerned when the children don't arrive.
She contacts family and friends.
Family and friends grow increasingly concerned when they can't reach Susan or Josh.
They contact police.
Police knock at the door, no one answers.
Fearing the family was poisoned by carbon monoxide poisoning, police break in.
They find no one home.
They find two fans aimed at a wet spot on the floor.
Police find no visible sign of forced entry.
Susan’s personal belongings, including purse and cell phone, are still in the
house
Police believe family may have been taken to the hospital
Josh returns home around 5:00 p.m. that day with his two sons.
Josh tells police he took his boys camping overnight.
When asked why he did not notify his work, Josh said he forgot what day it was.
Josh, Susan, and their two boys attend a church Christmas function on Sat.., Dec. 5.
Susan and the two boys attended church services on Sun., Dec. 6.
Susan Powell has been “missing without a trace” since Dec. 7.
Her good friend, Mindy Guzman, who took the last photos of Susan, said, "I just know that every family and every couple has stress. I do know that there have been points where she has felt controlled, but I know in the last year, she has kind of freed herself from some of that."
Josh Powell has hired a criminal defense lawyer that has defended high profile cases.
I understand the necessity for the police to gather as much evidence as needed or possible to effectively charge and prosecute a supposed criminal. What the hell is taking these people so long to freakin' connect the dots, test DNA, find Susan, and put the person who has led to this mother's disappearance?
Seems like the husband left behind some overtly obvious clues, i.e. camping after midnight in freezing conditions, renting a carpet cleaner, fans blowing dry wet spots on floor in home... PLUS husband moves out of their home to a different state ONE month after his beloved wife and mother of their young children mysteriously vanished.
If my husband went missing, I would do all that I could do to help bring him home and I wouldn't even think of leaving the one place he would come back to first. I don't care if work was not attainable-hell, his house wasn't in foreclosure. Stay at least as long as you can while you wait for Susan to be found. One month later=a fucking gd killer.
Fucking find Susan.

If my husband went missing I would have to be dragged kicking and screaming from the house.
This camping story is getting tired he should come up with some other blatant lie. I wonder if he had life insurance on her?
http://www.sltrib.com/News/ci_14218073Facebook has deleted a page discussing Susan Powell that reportedly drew complaints.
The social networking Web site notified the page's creator, Leslie Bleak, on Thursday the page was deleted, according to a posting on Bleak's personal Facebook page.
A Facebook spokeswoman on Monday said, due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, she was unable to investigate why the page was removed. Facebook's terms of use warns content can be removed if it violates copyrights, other laws or the "spirit" of its terms.
Bleak's page was titled "Susan Powell" and had about 6,000 members. Many of the postings on the page accused Powell's husband, Joshua Powell, of having a role in the disappearance or implored him to cooperate in the police investigation.
Bleak, who was unavailable for comment Monday, told The Salt Lake Tribune last month she started the page because she did not like the speech restrictions on a page started by Susan Powell's family. Bleak has said she received angry messages from people asking her to remove or edit her page.
[...]
Susan Powell's family established a Facebook page shortly after her disappearance titled "Friends and Family of Susan Powell." It had 42,790 members as of Monday afternoon. Its administrators have been vigilant in deleting posts speculating why the 28-year-old wife and mother went missing or who may have been involved in her disappearance.
Shelby Gifford, a friend and spokeswoman for Susan Powell's parents, said Monday the family did not complain to Facebook about Bleak's page.
[...]
The deletion of the smaller Susan Powell page is the latest chapter in a missing persons search that has been largely virtual. With no geographical area to explore, Susan Powell supporters have turned to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to raise awareness about the case.
[...]
Since Bleak's page was deleted, another page titled "susan powell part 2" has been created. It had 50 members as of Monday afternoon.

Susan Powell's Parents Suspect Husband Josh Powell Behind Her Disappearancehttp://blogs.seattleweekly.com/daily...ts_suspect.phpWhen last we heard from Josh Powell, husband of missing Utah stockbroker Susan Powell, he was packing up his two sons for a move to Puyallup. Now, our sister blog True Crime Report says that Susan's parents have finally turned on Josh.
"Most of our readers knew all along there was something wrong with Josh Powell's story. He supposedly took a midnight camping trip with their young children from their suburban Salt Lake City home--in the middle of the winter.
Then he arrived home after missing a day of work--only to find his wife Susan gone. There were no signs of forced entry. Her keys, credit cards and cell phone were all at home, as was her car. Friends say there's no way she'd leave without her kids."
"Then there was her husband Josh. He quickly lawyered up and refused to answer detailed questions from police. He also refused to show them where he went camping. In the middle of what was supposed to be a search for his wife, he moved with the kids to Washington state to live with his father.
"All along, Susan's parents, Chuck and Judy Cox, declined to cast aspersions at their son-in-law. They're devout Mormons inclined to believe the best about people. They wanted to buy Josh's pleas that he wasn't involved.
"But two months after the December 7 disappearance, they finally seemed to have realized that Josh is the likely suspect.
"They still believe their daughter is alive. But they now admit Josh has done nothing to help police find her. "He's the last person who saw my daughter--his wife--alive," Chuck Cox told ABC4-TV. 'He's got to know something. He's got to help out. He's thrown a roadblock without his cooperation.'
They also say Josh refuses to let them see their grandkids unless they visit them at his father's house in Puyallup, Washington. So far, that's been a no-go for the Coxes. No matter how polite they spin it, they won't visit the home of the man they must know killed their daughter."

And that sadly, won't change until her body is found and he is charged. Knowing someone killed your daughter and proving it are sadly too different things.
They really believe their daughter is still alive? And what, he knows where she is living her new life but won't tell them? Fucking weird they would event think that. I think she is dead.

http://www.sltrib.com/News/ci_14399155The sister of Joshua Powell will offer criticism of her brother on Tuesday's episode of "Dr. Phil," according to a preview of the daytime talk show released Saturday.
Utahn Jennifer Graves will discuss the case of her missing sister-in-law, Susan Powell. Graves' brother, Joshua Powell, 34, is the only person of interest publicly named by West Valley City police in connection with Susan Powell's disappearance.
He has provided little information to police or family members -- a point of frustration for Graves. "I'm kind of caught in the middle. My brother is a person of interest, but my sister-in-law, my good friend is missing," said Graves, in the episode taped last week.
"What has bothered me the most [is that] he has been reluctant to participate in the media arena. That's our biggest tool in helping to find Susan. You are the husband! There is more that you can do! So get up and do it!"
Graves also said her brother avoids questions about his wife's disappearance.
"I asked him if he was involved and he wouldn't respond ... he literally doesn't say anything ... [he said] 'My lawyer said not to talk to anyone,'" his sister said during the show.
In addition to Graves, Susan Powell's parents, Chuck and Judy Cox; Shelby Gifford, a family friend who has served as a spokeswoman during the search for Susan; and Graves' husband Kirk will appear on the program to talk about the search.
[...]
In the preview, Chuck Cox is said to discuss how he tried to be supportive of his son-in-law, but has since cast doubt on Joshua Powell's story of camping past midnight in subfreezing temperatures.
"In the beginning I wanted to be supportive, I believed that there would be a reasonable explanation ... but as my son-in-law shut down [it became] really hard to keep positive," Cox said, according to the preview.
"It's frustrating, he won't cooperate with the police and that's impeding the investigation and it's stopping us from finding my daughter."

No getting sucked in for this family. They held a press conference today:
http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=9689542&autostart=yCox family family spokeswoman Shelby Gifford said since Susan's disappearance, they've learned much more about Josh and Susan's relationship.
"It became apparent to us that Susan endured a difficult marriage and an adversarial relationship with her husband, Joshua," Gifford said.
The family now believes Josh was emotionally and physically abusive toward Susan. They said she planned to leave him by April 6, the couple's wedding anniversary, if the abuse didn't stop.
"Her perspective was not necessarily that he would harm her. It was that he would take the boys," Gifford said. "It was a threat that he repeatedly had made to her."
Gifford said Josh was also very controlling.
"Including controlling her use of the car, denying her access to the family finances -- even though she brought in most of the money -- repeatedly sabotaging her parenting efforts, and even governing which groceries she could buy," Gifford said.
[...]
They also announced the creation of a non-profit to assist families of missing persons and support domestic violence prevention efforts.

She has little children...what the fuck kind of food was she NOT allowed to buy???? And another thing...he looks like the biggest pussy EVER....I can't wait till all the evidence is discovered and he does the televised walk o'shame...cuffs and all head hung in SHAME.

AGAIN I have no thanks but I ty everyones comments b/c I cant ty lol,Yeah thats a pretty weak looking "man" if thats what its called. My hubby would never dream of telling me what food to buy and what not to.We have always spent good money on good food and yeah I did buy alot of the "trendy stuff".My son was always a poptarts addict, toaster strudels, the mini individual boxs of cereal,Heaven was also into other stuff .Stuff that was over priced and probrably not needed.BUT I have been on my own since 10 and legally since 15 and I was left alone with no heat, hydro, food etc. days at a time. Not looking for pity so please dont send any.I am an adult and have dealt with it and I guess part of dealing with it was 'hoarding food" as my best friend always said.I have stuff stacked and packed and me buying that stuff for my kids was b/c I never could have that.To this day when I know Case is coming I bake and huge pan of his all time faves brownies!!Heaven Cherry Chip Cup Cakes with Cream Cheese Icing. So telling me what to buy and what money to spend or anything ,I wouldve been divorced before the marriage even got started.Guy I dated when hubby and I were seperated was extremely controlling and as soon as I saw that he was history

Took two preschool aged kids "camping" in December and left the house at midnight. To me that is suspicious all on it's own.

Yea..way beyond suspicious if you ask me. It's not even believable. It's one of THEE worst "I murdered my wife and this is my bullshit fake story" EVER. He sucks at lying, he sucks as a husband, he sucks as a father cuz he killed his kids mother, and he sucks at life.
Yes...the first thing I would want to do if my husband went missing is pack up and sell my house.....that was mistake number 2. Asshole.

http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2010/02/1...ut-their-home/The husband of Susan Powell has rented out the family’s Utah home, a friend of the missing woman said.
Neighbors of Joshua Powell and his wife plan on moving into the house within the next few weeks, Kiirsi Branham Hellewell told CNN. "I'm kind of surprised anybody would want to live there," said Hellewell.
Mrs. Powell, 28, has not been seen for more than two months. Mr. Powell told investigators he took the couple's two young children on a camping trip in early December. He said his wife was not home when he returned. Police have labeled him a person of interest. He and the children now live in Washington State.
News that the home was rented has been met with mixed feelings. “I know they (the tenants) care about Susan a great deal and they are anxious not to let her home go back to the bank or anything.”
Friends and family of Susan Powell have not given up hope that she will be found alive, which is why Hellewell is not angry about Mr. Powell’s decision. “If she is ever found she may want to come home one day,” she said. “So even though I don’t agree with the people moving in, I’m not going to hold it against them.”
