You guys are driving me crazy thinking there's an update!
http://www.wboy.com/story.cfm?func=v...storyid=109554WESTON -- It's been 13 days since Aliayah Lunsford, 3, went missing in Lewis County.
The FBI said Thursday it's still working hard with county and state law enforcement today to track down Aliayah.
We've learned Aliayah's stepfather Ralph Lunsford is related to two women who went missing from Lewis County in 1999. To this day, they still haven't been found.
Ralph was also most recently an employee at Stonewall Resort. The resort released a statement to WBOY stating he "has not returned to work since September 24." The statement added the resort is cooperating with authorities in the investigation

I'm on it to find a link to verify this:
According the the Lewis County FB page last night...the administrator there confirmed that the stepfather, Ralph Lunsford, is the grandson of the missing grandmother, and the nephew of the missing aunt. Ralph Lunsford is also the cousin of Metz who was a POI in the missing women's case and who failed a polygraph regarding the women's disappearance, but was never charged.
Metz is currently incarcerated for a conviction of "attempted murder" in another case, where he attempted to kill a man by beating him in the head repeatedly with a hammer. The victim survived after waking up from the attack 3 days later.
Metz then conspired with another friend (a woman, I believe), to put strychnine in the victim's beer so he couldn't testify against him.

WESTON -- New developments in the search for two Lewis County women that have been missing for nearly ten years.
Lewis County Sheriff Mike Gissy says teams have been searching an area near Georgetown Road for the bodies of Maxine Stalnaker and Mary Friend.
Gissy says several of the womens' family members used to live in that area.

No, it keeps reading that way all the places I read or comments made on it. I believe he is only related to them, not related to their disappearance, but a cousin was a person of interest.

Thanks for clarifying that. it's still pretty freaky and the fact he hasn't been back to work is kinda raising some alarms. Then again if he was a father figure to the girl maybe he is to heartbroken to return. If it was me I couldn't hold down a job knowing child is missing. no way

http://www.wdtv.com/index.php/home/l...ayah-continuesInvestigators are still searching for missing three year old Aliayah Lunsford, who vanished from her home almost two weeks ago.
FBI officials announced earlier this week that her disappearance is being investigated as a crime. They're still looking at three possibilities, including a homicide, an abduction, or a concealment.
It's still being investigated by local, state, and federal departments, but they won't release any leads or evidence that they've found in the case. There's still no named suspects, but officials say they're continuing to talk to a small amount of people.

Still nothing. This was last night's update. Frustrating that it isn't anything updated.
http://www.wdtv.com/index.php/home/l...-still-missingIt's been more than two weeks since the mysterious disappearance of three year-old Aliayah Lunsford, but there's still no word yet on where she may be.
FBI officials announced earlier in the week that her disappearance is being investigated as a crime.
They say they are looking at three possibilities, a homicide, an abduction or a concealment.
Local, state and federal agencies are working together on the case, but haven't released any leads or evidence that they've found.
No suspects have been named yet, but officials say they're continuing to talk to a number of a people.

OMG.... sounds like a whole family of winners, as well as persons of interest. Pick one, pick 'em all. Maybe there's a conspiracy, but I honestly think the mom knows something. That 911 call doesn't sound right.
She might never be implicated. Look at Adam Baker and his infamous 911 joke of a call. I honestly believe that he got away with being an accomplice after the fact, if not murder itself.
I hate when it's the little ones especially who go missing. They are so vulnerable, and honestly, their chances are slim. They don't stand a chance sometimes against those who are suppose to love them and keep them safe. It makes me sick.

Led by FBI agents, law enforcement has "gone covert" and is working out of the Lewis County State Police barracks.
WESTON-- Aliayah Lunsford has now been missing for well over two weeks and authorities are still tight-lipped about the investigation's progress.FBI Special Agent Jeff Killeen said the investigative team is not allowed by law to discuss anything personally identifiable about a subject. He added they can't give up their "investigative advantage" by talking about leads in the case, but they have a lot of pictures and video they're studying.
The FBI hopes to have another press conference this week.

The media is really stupid. LE has not "gone covert". It's been that way all along. As stated in the article "authorities are still tight-lipped". The FBI rarely indulges the media/public and if they are leading the investigation, we are all pretty much at their mercy. If they have suspects but no proof to move on things, we aren't going to hear jack shit until they do and that's the way it should be.

They have to be tight-lipped, if they even hope to get her back alive. It's driving me batty trying to figure out what happened to this little girl. If I were her mother, I'd be a raving lunatic by now, if I had nothing to do with what happened to her. Well, I'd probably be a raving lunatic even if I DID have something to do with it.
Maybe she's trying to put on some dumb backwoods West Virginia act, but there's something hinky about the mother. Could she have sold or given the child away in payment for drugs or something?

http://www.wvmetronews.com/news.cfm?...&storyid=48490Investigators say they need more help with the case involving the ongoing search for a three year old girl who was reported missing in Lewis County last month.
Harrison County Attorney Tom Dyer says, based on the investigation up to to this point, law enforcement officers are now much less optimistic that they'll be able to find Aliayah Lunsford alive.
Dyer told MetroNews Affiliate WAJR-FM in Clarksburg the investigation has gone almost as far as it can.
"It's going to be one of those incredibly difficult cases to develop further evidence and, as a result, I want to brace the listening public for a period of time that may involve little, if any, news about any further developments in this case," Dyer said.
He says investigators have been able to eliminate several persons of interest and possible suspects and are focusing on a small group of people who may have been involved in the girl's disappearance.
A press conference is planned for Friday afternoon.

I am sick of these stories. The worst part is, a lot of times, they never do find out what happened to the kid. It is just one of those ongoing mysteries that just never sees resolution. I hope they can find out what happened to this sweet little girl. She looks so sad in her pics.

The FBI press conference this afternoon:
http://www.wboy.com/story.cfm?func=v...storyid=110133FBI Special Agent Jeff Killeen said the FBI is narrowing its focus of the investigation and has a specific timeline of events.
Killeen said they are combing through a lot of photographic and video surveillance evidence.
Killeen said officials are using digital enhancement techniques and they have captured a lot of video from homes and businesses in south Weston.
Killeen said that more than one person could been involved and could have conspired together in the Aliayah's disappearance.
Killeen said investigators are still working under the assumption that Aliayah's disappearance is still considered to be either a kidnapping, concealment or homicide.
Investigators are considering it a possibility that both federal and state crimes have been committed, and when asked if investigators believe Aliayah is still alive, FBI Special Agent Jeff Killeen said, "there is limited hope that she is still alive."
Killeen said that they have concluded that no other children in the area at risk.
http://www.58wchs.com/includes/news_...1§ion_id=7Killeen dispelled rumors that authorities weren't working hard enough on the case. He says whether it's in a search team, a video enhancement lab, the mobile crime unit, or conducting interviews, they have agents and officers working nearly around the clock.
Killeen says investigators do feel their getting closer to a resolution but still can't predict when they'll reach the end of the investigation -- but Killeen says they'll be here until the case is solved.

http://www.wdtv.com/index.php/home/l...-disappearanceSaturday will mark three weeks since Aliayah Lunsford was reported missing from her Lewis County home, and Friday, investigators said the search is narrowing, and a timeline is being formed after viewing a lot of surveillance videos.
FBI Special Agent Jeff Killeen says that after three weeks and no sightings of the girl, it is hard to believe that any child could still be alive with the weather we have had, but, he also says stranger things have happened.
Members of the FBI, the Lewis County Sheriff's Department and the West Virginia State Police are looking at business and home surveillance videos to help piece the situations surrounding Aliayah's disappearance together.
"Video evidence in the form of home security systems and the form of government security systems, other monitoring systems those, that immense amount of data that we have accumulated in the town of South Weston and elsewhere, has been very, very helpful to us. We certainly have narrowed our focus and we have narrowed our timeline down about the circumstances surrounding this missing child," Killen says.
No one will say whether or not Aliayah herself is seen in these videos or where they're from. We do know some are from Lewis County, and others are from surrounding areas.
Investigators say the tapes have helped them narrow down the persons of interest list, and confirm the thoughts that it's a murder, a concealment or an abduction. One or more people may be involved in her disappearance, and they could face a variety of charges
"A conspiracy, it could be, it could be but I'm not ruling that in, I'm not ruling that out, but I certainly can't rule that out right now;" says Killeen. "Both federal and state crimes, right now, we're looking at."
Killeen says that investigators do not believe any other children are in harms way.

You know, I'm thinking that this little girl wasn't alive when she was removed from her home. There's been something hinky about this from the start. I won't be surprised to find that it's another case of a baby who was sexually and/or physically abused to death, then thrown away like so much garbage.

Agree. Although I don't like to read into one picture, (we all have
pics our kids not looking so happy), why did they choose one so sad? seems like they would have one with her happy.
Kinda telling that maybe they don't have such a picture.
So sick to fucking death of these children gone missing. Fucking hate these cases! HATE!

@Whisper, the Lisa Irwin case is another that is driving me batshit. Now they have some hot-shit attorney and are going to clam up a la Red Squirrel - what's her name? Teri Horman? UGH.
@Silvahalo, that is exactly why I specified that I've only seen the one picture, cause there might be a ton others where she is laughing like a loon. Maybe they released that one cause they figure wherever she is, she's gonna look sad.
I am also sick of reading about beaten and murdered children, usually by the very people meant to protect them. I start to feel like a horrible mother cause I let my son watch too much TV yesterday cause I was sick with the stomach flu, and then I read this shit.
I am starting to hate humanity.

I think we've seen a couple of different pics of this baby, and in neither of them is she even close to smiling. I'm thinking maybe the poor little thing didn't have a whole lot to smile about. Remember Brianna Lopez, whose only pics were the autopsy pics? Maybe the couple of pics that we have seen of this little one are the ONLY ones there are at all. Just a thought I had.
I hate having such horrible thoughts about these babies but as we've seen in most cases, the worst case scenario is usually what ends up being the truth. After this much time, I don't really think either she or Lisa Irwin will be found alive. I don't like being pessimistic but it's reality, staring you right in the face, over and over.

http://www.wdtv.com/index.php/home/l...girl-arrested-Lena Lunsford has been arrested, however these charges are not related to the case of missing Aliayah Lunsford.
According to the criminal complaint, Lena Lunsford did knowingly transfer a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card issued in her name and Personal Identification Number (PIN) issued to her to a person known to the United States Attorney, in order for that person to use the benefits on defendant Lena Lunsford's SNAP EBT card to purchase approximately $114.82 of food in exchange for $50 in United States Currency.
Lunsford was released on her own personal recognizance Monday afternoon and is currently out free.
FBI investigators would not say if Lunsford is a suspect in her daughter's disappearance.
"I'm not going over who's a suspect... We're not labeling anybody a suspect at this time. That investigation remains ongoing. We're still committed to resolving this case favorably," says FBI Special Agent Jeff Killeen.
Investigators are still looking at surveillance videos.
"We continue to get evidence everyday, in the form of most particularly, video evidence. Again, as I said last week, we're looking very, very hard at video evidence. There's a lot of public and private facilities around this area that have video cameras and video capability so we have scoured the area and it takes a long time. We're trying to have a lot of that enhanced," says Killeen.
http://www.statejournal.com/story.cf...storyid=110300FBI Special Agent Jeff Killeen said Lunsford sold her SNAP card on Saturday, Oct. 15.
“It’s an ancillary part of the investigation; a separate transaction," Killeen said. "We’re looking at two equations here - separate criminal behavior that’s been charged in federal district court under the SNAP program."
Killeen said investigators are still focused on the same select group of people and are combing through video evidence that neighbors and businesses continue to bring.
If you have any surveillance video, the FBI asks you to call W.Va. State Police at 304-269-0500.

What is a SNAP card???
And I love the way they always seem to be able to come up with something to keep them where they know they are until they have enough evidence
Same as in Zahras case
