Sylviane Lozada Went Missing, Her Husband Went to Venezuela

Foul play is a possibility in the case of a missing Brusly High School teacher who has not been seen or heard from in more than two weeks, a Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman said Monday.Physical evidence obtained from Sylviane Finck Lozada’s home at 2234 Springlake Drive supports possible foul play in the case of the 51-year-old Belgian woman reported missing July 18, said Casey Rayborn Hicks, a spokesman for the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Hicks would not say what physical evidence was found at the couple’s home.
In addition, detectives found Lozada’s husband, Oscar Lozada, 36, on or about July 6 purchased multiple gray five-gallon buckets with lids and multiple yellow and black bags of Quickcrete concrete mix, Hicks said.
The buckets and bags of concrete mix have not been found, she said.

Oscar Lozada, and the couple’s daughter boarded a plane in Dallas destined for Venezuela on July 9, Hicks said. They were scheduled to return July 14, but they have not returned, she said

Detectives have reason to believe Sylviane Lozada might have occupied her husband’s bright-yellow, 2001 Nissan Xterra on July 5 or 6, Hicks said.
Hicks said Sylviane Lozada would not have been driving the vehicle, but Hicks was unsure where she might have been in the vehicle. (this sounds really bad)

The sports utility vehicle was found July 24 at the Prairieville home of a family friend, she said.
Law enforcement officials searched the area around Sylviane and Oscar Lozada’s house on Friday for possible clues to the woman’s disappearance, Hicks said. The home appeared deserted with furniture and belongings moved out of it.
Authorities have found the furniture, but Hicks would not say where it was found or why it was removed from the home.
Sheriff Sid Gautreaux said last week he is “very concerned” for the well-being of Sylviane Lozada.
Sylviane Lozada’s friend and colleague Karen Wooley said Monday multiple suspicious factors led her to believe weeks ago that something criminal led to the disappearance of her friend.
“The people who are involved in this, who have a heartfelt interest, just know,” Wooley said. “Not calling her family, the empty house — that’s just not her behavior. It all adds up to foul play.”
Wooley said Oscar Lozada’s behavior is unusual, especially since he hasn’t returned to Baton Rouge even though his wife has disappeared.

Thank you sweetie, for writing this up. My brother in law is also a teacher 'across the river' and we knew Sylvie. She was (we know she's dead), a very good teacher and a very likeable lady. Never met her husband, thank God. We all hope he can either be extradited or a hit person will find him. Someone who works in LE told me blood was found in the house; he didn't say where or how much. We all believe he killed her, either premeditated or in a fit of rage, cut her up and probably dumped her in the Mississippi River. If so, she'll probably never be found. I hope he was stupid enough to bury her or Dump the buckets in a bayou. I just hate to think about it. Rot in hell you bastard.

Not I am not Oscar but I know both very well and I can tell you that she was playing consciously or unconsciously with his mind! So many times she was in a bad move. She just could not enjoy her life after her father was gone. I can tell you a lot of things about her actions but I know she is the "victim". It could be him who killed her or maybe not but my point is "what drive a good person to do some things like that?". I know he called the police too but no body talks about that. I know she was an insecure person possessive and controlling! Oscar was dedicated to her and their beautifull child. He did not have a life of vice and women, drugs, alcohol or things like that. My dear friend I am not saying he did not kill her or he did but if he did I guarantee she provocated this sad end for the three of them! Some times the system sucks including the media who love riding a circus to raise the rating but honestly they don't tell you the truth and we may not find clear how was the real situation. But what I can tell you is they both were good persons with an unstable marriage! Is so sad :(

And she was going to take the daughter to Belgium...and his way of solving this was to TAKE THE KID AND RUN TO VENEZUELA...again, this makes him look guilty. He can say and do whatever he wants to make himself look better, but NOBODY KNOWS THE TRUTH...because she is missing and most likely dead.

She provocated this situation??...I really don't get why you would say this. No normal person deserves to go missing or be killed. And the husband's actions in this matter go a long way to show what he is like as a person, and what he is capable of. But nobody, not even you, can show what Sylviane was like a person. He called the police on September 2010 when she was acting wild but there is no media talking about this 'cause they don't know more and if she was so nice like you said then why she is dead? As for him calling the police in SEPTEMBER 2010, what does that have to do with her being missing NOW...it is now October 2011 and she has been missing since July 2011...almost a full year after his supposed call to the cops. So did he call in August to report her missing or just in 2010 to report her SUPPOSED behaviour??

It seems that he took off within a couple days of her going missing...does this not shout to you that he is guilty of something??? A normal person, with a logical brain, would see that something is clearly amiss when it comes to the father taking of when his wife goes missing and basically kidnapping his daughter and fleeing the country.

The media presents the facts that are given to them. If they did not post all the wonderful things about him or anything he has done prior to the disappearance, then it is quite likely they were not given those facts (if they are true).

And if he did take the daughter to school and doctor appointments, good for him...that is what a normal parent does for their child. That doesn't make the mother a bad parent if she didn't do those things...lots of fathers take their children to appointments, etc.
