http://wusa9.com/news/article/162069...ffice-BuildingWASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- Federal workers and some tourists looking to rent Segways arrived downtown Monday morning to find police tape, uniformed officers and marked cars blocking their paths.
The body of an unidentified woman was found on the steps outside the Old Post Office Pavilion, now being used to house restaurants and shops.
DC police were tight lipped about the case but sources say she was a homeless, black female -- maybe between 35 and 50 years of age.
Her cause of death has not been determined but sources say she appeared to have been assaulted.
A police source confirms they are looking at video from the area where Jane Doe's body was discovered. The source refuses to say what is on the tape.
Monday night, police reported that they were treating the death as a homicide and said the woman was found suffering from apparent stab wounds.
