After my brother shot himself i was sad of course, but also really fucking angry. I was mad as fuck at him because we hadn't talked in 6 months before he died. It was his fault, he had taken a ton of drugs and come over to my house high as a kite, snatched my 6 week old child out of her swing and ran outside with her into the night to hold her up to the moon. That was the last of his shit i could take, loved him and stood by him as he threatened to stab me to death, but my kid, uh-uh. So we stopped talking and then he took the cowards way out and we never made up.

Anyway, the night before his funeral everyone kept saying how they had felt him and stuff and that they knew he was ok. And I hadn't. In fact I thought it was a load of shit. But I really wanted to feel him, and tell hi I was sorry for not talking to him, for not seeing what was going on. So before i went to bed i asked him to please let me know something, anything.

I had a dream I was sitting in a car at the store, waiting for him. And I could tell I had been waiting for awhile, cause i was pissed. And just as I was going to get out of the car to go find him he leaned down in the window and said "Hey! You been waiting long?"

I knew it was really him. It scared me so bad i woke up. But i knew. And every once i a while he says hello again. In my dream he knows he is dead, he doesn't pretend that he isn't. He never makes mention of a "life after death" but we know he is just visiting. I know he isn't alive, but for awhile i forget and it is nice.

Do I believe in ghosts? Not really. Do i love the dreams i have once a year or so? Very much so.

Thats almost a clone of my best friend that died 2 years ago
She had beaten breast cancer and liver cancer then she got a second type of cancer not the same one she had beat
Dr says very rare but it happens
She died at 3pm and my 15yo dog died at 4pm and I just lost it for awhile
She had never believed in anything (ghosts etc)
By the time she was dying and near the end she thanked me for convincing her there was more afterwards
I told her she had to come and let me know she was o.k
After 2 months I hadnt had any knd of sign at all and told my mom that she hadnt let me know
That night had a dream,Im in her kitchen talking to my mom on phone and I see Est walking up the sidewalk looking beautiful not like she did when she died so sick and scrawny
And I started screaming into the phone I have to go Est is here finally and my mom says "tell her I love her"
She came in and sat and told me she was fine, for me to move on and how sorry she was b/c she died so soon after my other 2 closest friends died and knew I had been having a hardtime dealing the last year with them all dying
I told her it wasnt her call, nothing she could help
    I woke up sooo happy

    another one many years ago

I was cooking for thanksgiving dinner and monster in law said out in oven overnight at 275 (i hadnt ever cooked a turkey yet)
So I did what she said
and that day the fire dept had come and installed a smoke/fire alarm they were doing all the students homes from the kids schools About 3 am I am woken up by my grandmother madeline to get up,she kept saying "its time to get up" nudging my chest
I opened my eyes and smelled something and my whole apartment was full of smoke from grease bubbling over into oven
The damned alarm didnt even go off,it was her that woke me up

I have had a person come to me in my sleep too. I am pretty sure I have shared at least some of this story on here some where but I wouldn't have the first clue where.

It was the summer and I was visiting my grandmother in Missouri. It was the day we were to go home and I had a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. I kept telling my mom if we went home something horrible was going to happen. I didn't know what would happen but I was convinced it would. Seeing as I was just a young teen my mom figured I was just sad about going home and ignored my pleas.

We made it home safe and I started to call my friends to say I was home. I called my girl friend Melissa and she told me my mom's boyfriend Henry had come over accusing her of stealing a flag from our basement. Henry was a pack rat and we were sure he just misplaced it. My mom was pissed he would accuse my friends so she started grabbing his shit and throwing it out onto our deck.

When Henry came home I went to my room with my sister because we knew it would be a huge fight. While waiting for everything to calm down the phone starts ringing. My sister runs out and answers and says it is for me. I come out of my room but when I get to the phone nobody is on the line.

Right as all that is going down Henry walks into the house from the deck where he and my mom were still arguing. He walks into the kitchen and grabs something and quickly walks back out to the deck. With in seconds I see him stab my mom, he then runs in the house where my sister and I are standing. He throws down the knife and run out to the van and drives away.

My mom was freaking out and running up and down the front sidewalk screaming "he stabbed me." My sister dials 911 but the only thing she can do is scream. I take the phone from her and tell them my mom has been stabbed and our address. My mom finally comes in and sits on the couch. She lifts up her shirt and I can see the stab wound. It wasn't that big or even bleeding that bad but I could see the fat coming out of it and I was totally freaked out.

The police show up and take my sister and I to different rooms. They got our statements and then we got to ride in the ambulance with my mom. My mom was taken first to surgery and then put in the I.C.U. My aunt Sissy came and got my sister and I from the hospital and took us home with her that night.

The next day my moms friend Alicia came and got me. Not even sure where my sister went but I knew I wanted to be with Alicia. It was a few days later that I had the dream. It was so vivid it felt real. Henry came to me and told me he loved me and was sorry for scaring me. He told me that everything was going to be alright and not to be afraid anymore. He said he had passed on and I would be fine. We said our goodbyes and I woke up crying. He was the only father I had ever known and he was gone.

I got up the next day and insisted to be taken to the hospital to see my mom. I ran into her hospital room and blurted out Henry's dead. My mom looked at me all teary eyed and asked how I could know. Then she told me the state police had showed up a few hours earlier and told her they had found his body. They gave her a copy of his suicide note too.

Turns out he had called the hospital to find out my moms condition. They wouldn't give out that info because she was in I.C.U. So he thought she was dead. He rented a motel room and hung himself with his own shoe laces in the shower.

My mom got out and we had his whole family stay with us for the funeral. We forgave him and I still miss him.

I had a very strange experience when I was, oh, must have been eighteen or so.

Both my paternal grandparents died within a week of each other in 1985 (I was ten). My Grandma was in the hospital, she was 78 and cancer had metastasized, she was not going to make it. My Grandfather - who had never spent one night in a hospital - died in his sleep one week before my Grandma. My father always told me it was almost subconscious decision on my G-pa's part, as grinding on with no Grandma (married >50 years) wasn't really interesting him much.

Fast forward years later. I came across an old scrapbook album my Grandfather had kept, starting in 1926. It was a record of my Grandfather, his relatives, and my Grandmother and her relatives, from the beginning of their courtship all the way through their marriage, right up before they had children. Period of about seven years. Timeless photos, all surreal and black-and-white. Each photo has handwriting scribbled by its taker. It starts with my Granpa's handwriting and about two years into it's records you start seeing my Grandma's handwriting. I love my grandparents very much, but had never seen so many pictures of them young, in their prime. Like me at the time I saw them. And it got me thinking and relating to them in a different way, especially my Grandma, who was just stunningly beautiful and classy, especially in those ethereal photos. I could see why Granpa chased that one down (and I'm still glad for it!).

Anyways, I became fascinated at looking at those pictures for a spell. Thought and reflected and could feel my grandparents like I hadn't since they were alive. It was intoxicating. There was one picture after they were married on which this story turns. My Grandfather had taken a picture of my Grandmother standing next to my Grandfather's new boss and his wife, who were fast friends and out on the town one night. Photograph was those three standing in front of storefront, taken by my Grandfather. Its early 1930's something, the boss is dressed like Al Capone to give idea of the style. Slightly overexposed in that black-and-white way to lend a surreal sense to it as any good 'ghost' photo should be! I know the characters and such for my Grandfather recorded those details next to the picture he took.

I was looking at that photograph among others in that album one night, there was nothing strange about it. And to this day I cannot describe how it changed even though I was looking right at it when it did. I looked twice, three times, four times, eyes got saucer-wide I'm sure...the tingles on my back were so intense at realizing what happened I will never forget for as I looked at that picture my Grandfather appeared next to my Grandmother. I mean just right as I was looking at it. Writing about it now gives me intense tingles.

He is standing right next to her, also decked out like Al Capone (trenchcoat, Fedora). His hands are in his coat pockets. The back storefront was bricks ~3 feet up from the sidewalk and then display glass window rest way up the photo. My Grandfather's feet and shoes are solid and exposed and as 'there' as the other characters in the photo. But starting with the glass he becomes ethereal, transparent. He is not holding a camera (double exposure of him on storefront glass) with his hands in his pockets. He is standing right next to my Grandmother. And he wasn't there in the photo before. And I saw him appear with my own eyes in that photo. I cannot describe the effect (it wasn't like a PowerPoint fade-in or anything like that), it was just not there and then there. Truly indescribable was the effect, the sheer presence, that invested itself in that photo and appeared.

To this day I do not know what happened. I do not know if my Grandfather actually exposed himself in that photo, or perhaps I did just looking at it, or Super Smurf Spaghetti Monster played a trick on me...I have no idea. But it was 'paranormal' by the textbook definition. And I am not prone to this type of fantasizing, I am very science-technical guy. Nothing is ultimately unknowable, but there's a lot beyond me. And I will always be thankful for the experience as it keeps my mind open. I have a very natural skepticism, and combined with that event has given me good grounding I like to think in ascertaining what is true and what is fake...open mind without being a sucker.

And that photo still sits in that album at my father's house. I visit him next month and will look at it again as I do always when I visit. And I'll never put it on the internet or any such thing. It is MINE and between me and my Grandparents alone :)

P.S. It smokes anything in that top ten list.

I had a creepy experience once while I was waking up from a nap.

My room was pretty dark as this was in winter and well it gets dark early. I was sleeping and I kept hearing someone weeping. Not too loud, but loud enough to get my attention. As I am opening my eyes, I see a black mass figure sitting at the foot of my bed, holding her face in her hands. I say her, because it was clearly a woman with a scarf around her head that draped down to her breast.

As I am looking at her, she then takes her hands off her face and stares at me. I was in shock but never felt fear. I am a freak in that way. I, still to this day, will go search for the unexplained noises. If I were in a movie, I guess I would be the first to die, as I like to search for shit.

I grew up in a multi-ethnic/cultural family with each culture bringing it's own set of "superstitions" or paranormal views and religions into the mix. (I'm half Japanese and Puerto Rican with an Albanian last name and Albanian Grandfather. Yeah, I'm a JapaRican and totally "f'd" up to boot.)

Although the paranormal wasn't enthusiastically discussed, I grew up just knowing certain things. E.g. if the clock stops at a certain time and restarts on it's own after awhile, someone will die at that time, if a picture of a person/persons falls behind a desk, couch - where that picture stops is the person/persons who will die, never wear brand new shoes in the house, repeating numbers and so on.

Since everyone in my family is/was gifted - clairesentinent, pre-cognitive, telekinetic, claire-audient and so on; we always took signs seriously.

When I was growing up, my father used to drive us nuts with a date: September 24. Every year around September 24, my father would just go manic, "Who's birthday is it? Did somebody marry on this date? What happened on this date? Why is it important?"

As the years went on, a time was added 6:30pm. For 16 years or so, I lived with this, never fully understanding the tremendous, life changing impact it would have on everyone's lives.

Fast forward. It's August, and I'm in my last year of college. My younger brother just turned 15 and the other brother is already in the Army at Ft. Bragg, N.C. 82nd Airborne. My father is in another town doing work for his company coming home on weekends.

I had recently gotten in the habit of skipping classes every now and again just to hang out with my Mom, going shopping, having coffee or lunch. I took her shopping and she saw this pretty blouse. I told her, "Ma, I'll buy it for you. It looks good on you."

My Mom said, "No. I won't be needing it where I'm going."

    Odd.

    "Ma, where you going?"

    "I'm going on a trip."

"Ma, don't you want it for you're trip?"

No answer. The funny thing is, she spoke perfect english. Not, "No, no need where go. I go trip, neh, atta - ok?"

September 21, Friday. My younger brother is at work, I'm home. Mom says she's tired and lays down on the couch. She tells me, "You wake me ----san calls, I pick up at work."

About an hour later, my brother calls to let me know he's going to work a few hours more and to pick him up around 2-2:30pm.

My Mom says, "Nani wa?" I tell her that I'll pick up E--- and she can sleep.

So I go and pick up my younger brother and come home around 2:15. I hear my Mom mumbling, then "Help. I can't get off the couch."

I go to help my Mom and notice that she looks funny and her speech is slurred. I call the fire department (no 911 at the time).

An ambulance comes and I go with her to the emergency room. Since the ER is short staffed, the nurse asks me to help her with removing jewelry, clothing and holding her down while they intubate her. Just before the procedure, other staff arrives and I'm led away from her and the curtains are drawn. 10 minutes later, the nurse comes out, tears pouring down her face. She hands me her belongings and says, "Oh my God. I'm so sorry."

They wheel my Mom up to CT and immediately after into surgery and then ICU.

The Neurosurgeon shows me the CatScan and explains that my Mom has just had a massive cerebral hemorrhage. That they put a shunt into her brain to drain the fluids and brain matter. The only part of the brain functioning is part of the brain stem that controls the heart. She is on life support.

On September 24, at 6:15pm in the evening, we disconnect my Mom from life support systems. At 6:30pm she died.

When my husband was first stationed at Ft Gordan in Georgia, we moved into an older neighborhood. Not a run-down place, but one that was established and most of the people were older folks that had raised their children and saw them off into the world. Nice brick homes, beautiful lawns and such.
My son and oldest daughter were in school leaving myself, my 4 year old and a 6 month old home alone while husband worked.
The garage had been enclosed and turned into a den type room that we used for the kids room. Toys, tv/dvd player for their movies, etc..
One day my 4year old was in that room playing. Usually a noisy child, she got quiet. We all know that a quiet 4 year old is never good.
I went to check on her and found her in the closet, all the way in the back, tucked into herself, eyes huge, obviously terrified. She said "See the man?" Heart pounding, I scooped her up got the hell out of there.
A few days later, baby is in her crib napping, I use the bathroom in my room and Kinna comes to the door and says it again, scared to death "See the man?" I slammed the bathroom door and we probably would have stayed in there till hubby got home if it hadn't been for the baby in her bed.
The last straw was a week later. Kinna had gotten to the point where she wouldn't sleep in her room. She had to sleep with us. She lay on my side of the bed, which was maybe 2 feet from the wall and we were just snuggling waiting for Daddy to get out of the shower. Suddenly she shoved her back against me, jerked the covers over her head and said "See the man? See the blood?" That baby was shaking. We scooched all the way over to the other side of the bed, let Daddy have the bloody man side and the next day found a trailer that was available for immediate move in.
I believe. And I am thankful every day that I have never had an experience/seen anything. Sometimes I think that my fear IS the reason I have never seen anything.
But man I love this thread! lol
Stick THAT in your juice box and suck it!

Heres some pics I had from a haunted site I used to belong to and from off the net

This was the second of several visitations in my home. This particular photo displays what appeared on our bathroom mirror. We cleaned the mirror and removed it…then at some point it reappeared. We cleaned it again and it never returned. We suspect that the ghost in our haunted home was displaying an image of itself. We have also had crucifixion candlesticks moving around on the table by themselves and a painting flew off the wall. The painting was of the Virgin Mary and the candlesticks had the image of Jesus on them!”
    1)
    2)
this is a real photo showing a young child playing on the floor. Around her you can see an old stick and ball wicker rocking chair - another fancy chair - a very decorated rug on the floor - and what looks like a GHOST right next to the baby. I suppose some could say it was a "trick" of the camera, but I'm not sure how they would have accomplished that back in the early 1900's?!! The ghostly image looks like another small child - sitting on the floor next to the live child. See for yourself. The "evidence" seems to speak for itself."

Please see attached picture of an angel.

The angel picture was taken on Saturday 5th August 2006 at
exactly 18:00 hours beside my grandmother's grave in Co Cavan, Ireland. I took this picture with a camera
on my mobile phone, and I am in no doubt that this is a angel! My dad passed away on the 11th of June
2005 and his mum (which is my grandmother) passed away 6 months later on the 19th of December 2005."

    The Golden Lady

A series of photos taken of an abandoned house in America. Nothing was seen when the photos were being taken. The grey image is an analysis done by a computer

Terry Ike Clanton took this photo of his friend at Boothill Graveyard, who wanted Old West-looking pictures of himself dressed in Clanton's 1880-period clothes. Among the gravestones, just to the right of his friend, is the image of what appears to be a thin man in a dark hat.

So everyone know's I don't believe in these things, I believe there is a logical explaination for every photo here....or so I thought.

My daughter is very level headed and the total opposite of a drama queen. This last week she went to a friends lakehouse at the Oregon/Washington border. The first night she was there she called me at 1:40 in the morning crying because she heard whispering and saw someone standing in the room. She was afraid she was loosing her mind and frankly I was worried for teh same reason.

The next day I called to check on her, I wanted to come get her but she asked to stay a bit longer. She figured whatever was going on with her was due to an anxiety problem she's been having and decided she didn't want it to stop her from having a life. So, as hard as it was, I let her stay.

Later that day she called and mentioned that her friends dad had died in that cabin 2 months ago from cancer. She was telling me how awful she felt for her friend, and how much it struck home for her since I have breast cancer. Although I'm going well, she still worries about losing me.

The next day she calls me again...this time she is freaking out. They were taking group pictures and as they were going back through the photos, they saw her friends deceased dad...standing right in the middle of all of them. Sissy said the image is a tiny bit blurry but she said you can definitely tell it's him. Every one in the house (6 people, adults and teens) all saw the photo and all can identify the person in the photo as Emily's dad.

I haven't seen the pic yet but Sissy is trying to get me a copy. I'll post it when I get it.

I love your stories!!!! It's great to hear other people experiencing the same type of activities. Used to be if you even mentioned ghosts, people thought you were whacked out.

@whisperswing - you belonged to GhostStudy? That is an awesome site. Except lately, Jim hasn't been too keen on updating the monthly ghost pics. :(

What I have a hard time getting used to are EVP's. To actually hear the recording of a person or something else is truly freaky.

I had a spirit one time actually say loudly in my ear, "Hello!" Just about crapped my britches. Slept with the lights on for a month.
Which, of course, is stupid. Like the lights are going to keep spirits away or make it easier to see them or keep them from talking to you. WTH was I thinking?

At least now, I know more than I did then. I keep extra britches by me at all times :)
I will never reach enlightenment. Too many assholes I'd like to send through a woodchipper.

there are alot of good sites out there but the best one shut down last year
everyone telling their stories and stuff in chat room set up really the best one
shes supposed to reopen soon hoping she does
thats where I heard about the Black Eyed Kids,it was an old man(88 at the time),retired State Trooper told of an experience he had on a desserted road when he was a young trooper
And he was just such a good guy i have no reason to doubt"what he saw" couldnt been somethinhg totally diff but he believed he saw what he saw

Im going to email her and find out how soon shes reopening and Ill let you know
    there are stories section,
    picture section
and in chat when someones telling a story of a ghost experience they had what we called "close the curtains" its called and nobody is allowed to chat or interrupt until that person says"done"
Very respectful group, psychics pop in too

I had something similar happen last year, Whisp.

I bought new spring mounts and shackles and left the box on the screened-in porch, bringing one shackle in so I could measure it. Later I went out and looked in the box again, and the other shackle was missing. A day or two later I looked in the box again, and the missing shackle was back in the box.

lol I have stuff moved here all the time and it doesnt scare me b/c nothing bads ever happened
seems to be fave game of the after life I guess
one of the first things I remember SEEING move was the cats water dish
I have a rescue as you know and I dont cage the cats whether here or in foster homes
so I have small water/food dishs through out my house kinda hidden so company doesnt see but the cats and I know where they are
At the bottom of my steps I had a set for my old cat Daisey Mae,
and she had this horribly annoying habit of pulling her water dish out into the middle of the floor and I was constantly walking by and nudging it back against the wall with my foot so no one tripped or dumped it
so im walking by and slid it back over and all of a sudden it slid back out a good foot
I sat at the bottom stair for an hour trying to figure out how I did that
I knew I hadnt done it
but all these things went through my mind like "did I have static electricity on my socks and it pulled it out lol" all stupid things just trying to rationalize it
after that I started noticing all sorts of stuff hapening

I have cats so anything small that they can get to that is moved gets blamed on them.

Found this today and figured maybe belonged here
Not saying it is or it isnt a dead soldier I just came across it while searching a thread

Family captures haunting face above the USS Arizona
HONOLULU, HI (KHON/CNN) - An Australian family claims they captured an incredible image from above the USS Arizona of a face beneath the waters of Pearl Harbor.

Susan De Vanny and her family said the face appeared in the shimmering oil in the water above the wrecked ship where it remains as a memorial to the sailors who died during the Dec. 7, 1941 attacks on the Hawaiian harbor.
    [..]

"I said just have a look at the photo, and he said, 'Oh my gosh, it's a face,' and then the kids saw it, and they go, 'Oh wow'," De Vanny said.

De Vanny described the ghostly figure in the water as looking very sad and young.

More than 1,100 sailors died aboard the USS Arizona during the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941. Most of the bodies were never recovered.

Okay, this is not an image but it is eerie.

Allow me to introduce to you Andy Odendhal, AKA Obaki, and his web comic Too Much Information.

Recently, Obaki posted the story of a haunting in his blog on the site. Rather than copy and paste the text, I am going to link you to the story, which Obaki calls "The Visitor". I hope you enjoy it.

If you have a minute or three, you may enjoy taking a little time to look his site over. He tells stories very well.

Awww what a sweet/sad story. I usually get freaked out by ghost stories pretty easily, but I think I could handle a little spirit kitty coming to visit me on cold nights!

I lived with a boyfriend for a few months. His cat became attached to me because I stayed home. Kitty became really sick. His liver quit working for an unknown reason. My boyfriend and I didn't have a lot of money to help Kitty. All we could afford was to make him comfortable before the end. He came home with us and I tried to make his last few weeks on earth as amazing as I could. I took him to the park to hear and see the birdies and squirrels that he loved to chirp at from the window. I let him jump in the bathtub with me when I took a bath. He laid on my lap when we ate meals at the table. I took Kitty with me wherever I went. I even went to see a band play at a bar and took him with me. The owner knew that Kitty's life was coming to an end, and even though he's a 7 foot tall asshole biker dude...he has a soft spot in his heart.

Then Kitty died. The next morning, my boyfriend left for work, and I stayed in bed. I heard Kitty meowing, and in my grogginess, I said, "Come here, Kitty. come lay with me." Then I realized, um, Kitty is no longer with us. I brushed it off as just expectation as he always came crawling into bed with me in the mornings.

Until he started crawling into bed with me. I've moved four times since then, and Kitty comes with me every where. He only comes when I need solace and comfort. He nuzzles my legs or lays on my lap. It's funny, I can feel him touch me, but I can't touch him.

I think my hubs has something that follows him or is attached to him. Weird things happen to him all the time. Like just the other week, he was sitting on the couch playing a video game & I was on the other end. He didn't have a shirt on & all of a sudden he says "ouch! Why the fuck did you scratch me?" I looked up from my book & was like, "um, I didn't touch you, I've been sitting here reading." I turned on the light & there were scratch marks from his neck to his shoulder. He just says, oh shit, it's back. I thought I felt it the other night while I was sleeping. After that he proceds to tell me all about it. He said it's been happening since he was a kid.

You would think that this is something that you might bring up before you marry someone, ya know, just kind of a heads up kinda deal. He could of at least at some point said to me , hey, just so you know I have a ghost that follows me & does weird shit to me.

I also think we have a little girl ghost in our house. My daughter has seen her. And before she really knew what it was, we would her talking to someone while in her room alone. At first I thought she was just playing, but I would peek in on her & she would just be sitting on her bed talking to someone who wasn't there. Also, My stuff would be moved. Like my keys for work, I would set them at the one end of the table cloest for to grab them when I was ready to leave. And come morning, they with my clothes, would be moved to the other end of the table. IDK, she's not hurting anything, so I just pay no mind to it now.
You will be able to spot him easily, he is the one that looks like a broke ass daddy yankee. ~MyBabiesMomma

The only thing we've got going on (at the moment) is our deceased grandmas visiting and grabbing us, the old guy who died in our house before we moved in likes to sit in my brother's chair and watch him sleep, which scares the ever loving crap out of him, some minor hijinks and noises. Lots and lots of noises.

@Apostle of Chaos, you can have the thing that grabs me in the dark, and the shadow person, and whatever scared the hell out of the cat. I'd rather not have to deal with them ever again.
