Jose Baez Pens Book About Casey Case
Baez Book To Hit Shelves In July

Jose Baez announced details of a book he plans to release this summer. He promises the book will give an inside look into the Casey Anthony murder trial.

The book, titled "Presumed Guilty," will hit store shelves in July -- one year after Anthony's acquittal.
"On July 17th 2008, my life changed forever. I think the time has come for the whole story to be told," Baez said in a statement.
The publisher, BenBella Books, said the book will expose shocking information about Baez's first meeting with Anthony, her parents' behavior and the trial itself.
Baez was Anthony's attorney for more than three years. The publisher promises the book will reveal the real Anthony, from the person who got to know her best.
The publisher also said the book's aim is not to convince readers of Anthony's innocence.
"There are so many behind-the-scenes facts and stories that have never been made public. I look forward to sharing my story," Baez said in the statement.

I think Baez is the biggest sleeze ball, and got really lucky. He made opening statements that he never even addressed let alone proved. He didn't have to prove anything but when you toss it out there. I don't think he knows enough law to represent a flea on a dog. I wouldn't hire him to take out my trash. The only award he should get is he's a good dresser but it would look better on a thinner man. Baez reminds me of Topo Gigio from the Ed Sullivan show.

As far as BahASS's book, I think this is his & Casefreak's Plan B. It wouldn't surprise me if she's in on it and getting a piece of the literary pie. They finally realized that the public wasn't going to buy anything the murdering ho wrote, so now they are going to do it through the swinemeister. I won't buy it, not even if it goes on sale for 1 penny.

don't know if any of this is true or fact....but for entertainment purposes....

Casey Case Could Affect State Attorney Election
Longtime Colleagues Square Off In Upcoming Election
    Bob Kealing, WESH 2 News

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The prosecution of Casey Anthony brought seismic changes to the Orange-Osceola State Attorney's Office.

Jeff Ashton, one of that office's top homicide prosecutors, agreed to put off retirement to work on the Anthony case. His boss, longtime incumbent State Attorney Lawson Lamar, has enjoyed an almost untouchable political status.

After Anthony’s stunning 2011 acquittal, however, Ashton retired, wrote a book on the case, and hit the talk show circuit. Then late last year, he declared his intent to unseat Lamar.

Lamar responded by lashing out at Ashton as an immature opportunist intent on cashing in on the Caylee Anthony tragedy.

Now, a new poll paid for by the Ashton campaign, shows him leading Lamar by 11 points.

“I think this poll is going to show there is a very strong, legitimate opponent for Mr. Lamar this time,” Ashton said.

In an Internet Voting Panel of 400 Democratic primary voters across Orange and Osceola counties conducted by the Maitland based Kitchens group.

Those unhappy with the Anthony verdict were asked, "Who do you blame?" The poll found that 35 percent blame the jury, 28 percent blame Lamar and 7 percent blame Ashton.

“I think the public says if there were any mistakes made it was his decision to seek the death penalty rather than anything Frank or I or Linda did,” Ashton said.

That poll also finds Lamar with higher unfavorable ratings compared to Ashton – the Anthony trial being a major factor in Lamar's negative ratings.

Lamar's campaign manager says Internet polls like this have larger margin for error than phone polling.

“It's a campaign stunt by a candidate who is a celebrity, who is now more interested in Hollywood movies, book signings and profiting from his loss in the Casey Anthony case,” Alan Byrd said.

Both sides agree this race is about much more than Anthony. But in less than one year's time, the shadow of her acquittal has left two former colleagues on very different sides.

There are people who are still over the top on this and just won't let go. As long as there are people like that out there people are going to sell things about her particularly those involved. Where does the line go with Baez. Shouldn't all his experiences be confidential based on attorney-client relationship? Should anything he have to say about Casey or her family be confidential? I would think so unless she were under the table profiting.

Jeff Ashton's book and his media tours and kissing up to women who are tards for this case is going to make him State Attorney for his county. Women are donating who are not even in his voting district with cutsy comments on his site and FaceBook page. Polls indicate that Ashton is leading Lawson Lemar, his former boss and holder of the position by 11 percentage points.

Ashton is sure riding the wave. Have you noticed since on media tours and post Anthony trial he has gained probably 25 pounds. Ashton doesn't have baby powder clean hands either on alot of issues. His current wife also runs a lot of his life. I think Ashton is milking this for every cent he can and is also a media whore.

That's a good point, Angel. How the hell can Baez tell us anything about this case....unless Casey has given him the okay to do so? There is no way in hell he is going to tell the truth, so maybe it's okay because this book will be a work of fiction. It's not really attorney/client privilege then, is it?

    It's a small WIN!!!!!

Lawyers Win Access To Casey's Address

Casey Anthony Civil Suit Back In Court

Attorneys for Zenaida Gonzalez were granted the right to know where Casey Anthony is living Thursday.

At the Orange County Courthouse, the attorneys asked the judge to force Anthony to reveal her current and past addresses at a hearing.
The address will be sealed to the public and only known to the attorneys. Attorneys said that safety will not be compromised.
Gonzalez's attorneys said they need the addresses to serve her a subpoena.
Anthony has 10 days to comply to the judge's order or appeal. If Anthony does not reveal where she is living, she could face civil penalties.
Gonzalez claims Anthony ruined her life when she told authorities a nanny by the same name kidnapped her daughter Caylee.
Anthony was acquitted of killing 2-year-old Caylee in July 2011. She has since been serving one year of probation in a check fraud case.

And by the way, we already know Baez is a liar. I'm surprised that he didn't face ethics charges. It never sat well with me his opening statements and he never addressed them. This whole case stunk. I wouldn't trust Baez to take out my trash because he can't fit in the trash can with it. IMHO that is where he belongs the trash can.

Casey Anthony: Geraldo Rivera says he won’t play himself in Lifetime movie

I was a guest Friday morning on Geraldo Rivera’s WABC radio show.
The topic was the document release in the George Zimmerman case, but the discussion turned to Casey Anthony and Jose Baez. I told Rivera that I was surprised he didn’t have the first interview with defense attorney Baez, who has written ”Presumed Guilty,” an upcoming book about the Anthony case.

I told Rivera that I didn’t think Baez did a good job promoting the book in an interview on HLN’s “Dr. Drew.” Baez needed to supply specifics to get people talking about the book.

Rivera revealed that he had been asked to play himself in the Lifetime movie based on former prosecutor Jeff Ashton’s book, “Imperfect Justice.” But Rivera said he had passed.

And that’s a shame: Rob Lowe will play Ashton, but only Geraldo can play Geraldo.

Casey Anthony: Cheney Mason, Jeff Ashton to discuss case
    Posted: 17 May 2012 03:55 PM PDT

Defense attorney Cheney Mason and former prosecutor Jeff Ashton are going to New York to discuss the Casey Anthony trial.
They will kick off a seminar series called "Trials & Error: Behind the Headlines of America's Most Controversial Cases." Alex Ferrer of "Judge Alex" will take part, too.
Pace Law School will bring the three men together for a 90-minute discussion followed by a Q&A. The event will be at 7:30 p.m. May 31 at the the Schimmel Theater, One Pace Plaza in Manhattan.
The event is open to the public but a reservation is needed. A reservation can be made by contacting Linda Maccarrone at lmaccarrone@law.pace.edu or by calling 914-422-4062.
Writer and law professor Thane Rosenbaum will moderate the panel. The second program in the series, set for Sept. 6, will focus on the O.J. Simpson trial.

The principals are still cashing in on the fame of this case. Reservation does that mean tickets? Does that mean sales?

I don't think Jose Baez does a good job on anything except whinning. He won by luck in my opinion not by any great oratory skills etc. If she had been convicted there would have been a plea for ineffective counsel and I bet that appeal might have been granted. Bozo should be played by Danny DiVito.

Casey Anthony to appear at defamation trial in January

WFTV has learned Casey Anthony will likely appear at her defamation trial in January.
On Monday, Cheney Mason, one of the lawyers who defended Anthony against murder charges, said he's agreed to accept the subpoena for her to show up at the civil trial.
Last week, a judge ruled that Anthony had to release her address or have one of her attorneys accept the subpoena for her.
Mason will accept the subpoena to prevent Anthony’s address from being released.
Zenaida Gonzalez is suing, claiming Anthony ruined her life when she said a babysitter by the same name kidnapped Anthony’s daughter, Caylee.
Investigators tracked Gonzalez down, because her name was on a visitor's card at the Sawgrass Apartments where Anthony said she dropped Caylee off with the nanny.
Gonzalez said once that happened, people have treated her differently and she wants at the very least an apology from Anthony.
Anthony's lawyer told WFTV that she may apologize to Gonzalez.
Anthony's lawyer said the nanny Anthony named was "Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez," and that's not the plaintiff's name. They also argued to Circuit Judge Lisa Munyon that Anthony has already admitted that the nanny doesn't exist.
Caylee's body was found behind Anthony's parent's home on Suburban Drive.

Casey Anthony Flushed Out of Hiding

Ten months after she went into hiding, Casey Anthony has been found and now may have to face tough questions under oath in a courtroom.

Investigators have been waiting outside Anthony's residence in Florida for several days to serve her with a subpoena in a defamation action filed by a woman named Zenaida Gonzalez.

"Our investigation team had her whereabouts pinned down," says Gonzalez's attorney, Matt Morgan. "Their backs were against the wall, so her attorneys said that they would accept service on her behalf."

Gonzalez filed suit over Anthony's comments in 2008 that a babysitter named Zenaida Gonzalez had kidnapped Anthony's 2-year-old daughter Caylee, who turned up dead. There was no babysitter by that name, but Gonzalez – who had nothing to do with Anthony – claimed defamation because the two names are the same.

While Anthony has been hiding since her highly publicized acquittal on murder charges, the defamation case has proceeded. A judge finally ordered that Anthony's attorneys must disclose her whereabouts.

Although Anthony had planned to leave the country after her probation was finished in September, she now will must return to Orlando to face Gonzalez, who wants Anthony do something she never did at the criminal trial: face questions under oath in court about Caylee's death.

During a deposition, Anthony repeatedly invoked the Fifth Amendment in refusing to answer questions. Now, Anthony is required to appear at trial on Jan. 2.

"Ms. Gonzalez is happy to hear that Casey Anthony finally will be held accountable just like everybody else," says her attorney.

Casey Anthony + Probation= EPIC FAIL

Here we go again. Another month, another probation report and meeting between Ms. Casey Anthony and her Florida probation officer. Remember, Anthony is on formal probation. That means she has requirements ranging from therapy to financial matters. Casey also has to prove that she has a job or goes to school.

Thus far it has been apparent to me that Anthony has been working the system. Yes, this started when she was first let out on bond and continued while she was in county jail. Then she worked her magic during her trial. Somehow this case became so confused that the Florida Department of Corrections sent Anthony a letter while she was in jail that she had completed her one-year of probation. As I said on numerous media outlets, that would be impossible, and of course when challenged, Anthony was ordered to serve her formal probation in FLORIDA.

What makes Casey Anthony so special? The media attention and the fear that brings the system when there have been grave mistakes made. Yes, I am sure that the Florida Department of Corrections, her probation officer and the criminal court system wishes she would just fade away. How naïve! In fact, Anthony and the attention she brings will only build as we begin summer, and as luck would have it will climax just in time for the upcoming fall television season.

I have written and said numerous times that I thought Anthony had already violated her probation. I stand by this comment. After all, she claims to have no money, no job and no resources, yet she is making video blogs on a NEW computer and of course selling them. Who does she think she is? Is it any wonder that she is delusional and grandiose? Of course not. Did you ever think just who has been paying her bills?

Here are my thoughts- Some based on rumor, some based on non published yet factual information:

Casey Anthony has had a series of benefactors ranging from crazy fame whores to people who think she is innocent.

Anthony has been selling her information to various outlets like Radar Online. There is NO such thing as “leaked” information in this case. Everything has been potted and planned.

Anthony has received cash payments from other media outlets and “friends” of hers have also filtered some of this money to her. In the real world this is called money laundering.

Anthony does not have a job and still provides her probation officer no source of income. After all of these months a regular person on probation would be called to task. In this case we even have Anthony flaunting her success in front of the world and still no action by the judicial system.

The Federal Government is looking into this matter because Anthony has I.R.S. tax liens that she is making no payments on.

SO, what to conclude and what’s next????? I still maintain that at some point Anthony will be called on all of this illegal behavior. The problem may well be that the probation department has made errors just like the Department of Corrections did and like the court itself did. They are embarrassed.

As anybody who follows my work and me knows, I am a believer in EQUAL JUSTICE. Nothing about the probation of Casey Anthony has been equal or fair. This I know having been on probation myself. I urge everybody to demand more while keeping our eyes on the bigger picture of child abuse and use this case as THE example to make positive change. Do not let the initial success of Casey Anthony take the focus off the fact that a child is dead and 5 children die EVERYDAY in the U.S. from abuse or neglect. We must stop child abuse.

Hooray, I'm glad she's gonna have to answer questions that she got out of answering before, but it's an empty victory cause other than embarrassing her and possible losing some of her supporters when she finally does tell the truth, (if she even does then) there's really nothing else that can happen to her, since legally she didn't kill Caylee.

But still it will be like getting to slap your most hated enemy if she does have to 'fess up to something, anything.

@sintax--if you hear anything else about The HM will you let me know? I'm am just too curious. (read that as nosy)

Casey Anthony: Look who will play her in the TV movie

Turns out that Casey Anthony won’t have a big role in the Casey Anthony movie.

Speculation has raged about who might play “the most hated woman in America” in an upcoming Lifetime movie. Could it be Kristen Stewart, Alyssa Milano or Jennifer Love Hewitt?

The role wouldn’t be worth their time because it’s the inside story of the trial, not Anthony. Cast as Casey is a little-known actress, Holly Deveaux, who starred the Canadian series “Baxter.”

“Prosecuting Casey Anthony,” based on former prosecutor Jeff Ashton’s best-selling “Imperfect Justice,” starts shooting Tuesday. So the casting must be finalized quickly.

Alison Cross, the film’s writer, says there are three main roles: former prosecutor Ashton, defense attorney Jose Baez and prosecutor Linda Drane Burdick. Prosecutor Frank George will be featured as well, but the role hasn’t been cast.

Rob Lowe of “Brothers & Sisters” and “Parks and Recreation” plays Ashton. Lowe told TMZ: “It’s gonna be interesting … I think people are gonna dig it … great script.”

Ashton has said he was flattered by the casting. “I wish I had his boyish good looks,” Ashton said. “When I told my wife, she asked, So does that mean I’m married to Rob Lowe now?’ ”

Oscar Nunez will play Baez, Anthony’s defense attorney. Nunez, a Cuban-American actor-comedian, plays Oscar Martinez on “The Office.” His other credits include “The Proposal” and “24.”

“He did a fantastic audition that was so persuasive dramatically,” Cross said. She said she was “wowed” by Nunez’s “range and ability to channel Jose.”

Elizabeth Mitchell of “Lost” and “V” will play Burdick.

Anthony and her parents, George and Cindy, are secondary characters. Veteran actor Kevin Dunn of “Luck” will play George but Cindy hasn’t been cast yet.

Deveaux will be limited in what she can portray because all of Casey’s dialogue in the film comes from public records, Cross said. The movie will rely heavily on news footage to give the picture a documentary look, and it won’t use re-enactments of Anthony’s life, Cross said.

“It’s not our intention to make a movie that tries Casey Anthony for the third time,” Cross said. “She was tried in court and she was tried by public opinion.”

In July, Anthony was acquitted of murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee.

Geraldo Rivera revealed last week that he had declined to play himself in the film.

Cross said Rivera was asked to re-enact a clip from one of his interviews with Baez. The movie shows Ashton watching Rivera conducting a split-screen interview with Baez before the trial started. But that’s the only scene with Rivera, Cross said.

Filming is scheduled to run 20 days. “We have to go very fast because of Rob Lowe’s schedule. But it’s all fine,” Cross said.

Winnipeg stands in for Orlando, because it’s cheaper to film in Canada and the film is largely set indoors.
You know, it has just got to piss Casey off that she can't be involved in this. There is a picture at this link....................http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/ent...-tv-movie.html
