Casey Anthony: Cheney Mason packing a gun, scoffing at Morgan & Morgan

Cheney Mason today revealed that he’s carrying a gun after defending Casey Anthony.
“The attorney said that because it’s one of the main arguments he’s trying to do to get Casey Anthony out of having to come for any trial at Orange County Courthouse — safety concerns,” Adam Longo of Central Florida News 13 reported this afternoon.

At a hearing today about a defamation suit against Anthony, Mason shared threats made against him.

The judge ruled that Anthony could keep her address private and attorneys for Zenaida Gonzalez will have to find a way to subpoena her to attend the civil trial. Gonzalez is suing Anthony, who is serving a year’s probation for check fraud somewhere in Florida.

Mason said Anthony wouldn’t be present for any trial. “If you’re waiting for a picture of Casey, you’re going to be waiting a long time, ’cause she’s not going to be here,” Mason said in a report on WESH-Channel 2.

“Mr. Mason’s wife has received threats saying ‘Don’t stand next to your husband because his brains will go all over you,’ ” Anthony attorney Charles Greene told WESH.

The latest Anthony developments were the top story on noon newscasts.


WFTV-Channel 9’s Jeff Deal reported about Anthony: “One of her attorneys said that ultimately it would be up to Casey Anthony if she wanted to be here. Another one of her attorneys said flat out she will not be here.”

John Dill, a Gonzalez attorney, vowed that her team will track down Anthony.

Mason, however, scoffed: “They’ve already been doing that. I don’t think they’re good enough.”

Mason added: “So they can spend all the ‘For the People’ money they want to,” a slam against Morgan & Morgan, Gonzalez’s attorneys. “If they happened to find her, it’ll be a short-lived knowledge, ’cause she’ll be gone.”

Both sides are seeking a delay of the trial, which is scheduled to start April 10.

All I got to say, that in the near future, when this union made in Hell goes South, is that I (and million of other folks) don't wanna hear it, you, Mally-BOO-BOO should have know better than any of the rest of us and if you'd have asked us (which you didn't) we'd have told you to run, not walk, as far away as you can possibly get, but you saw fame and dollar signs.

Even if nobody else in the family was dysfunctional, even if George and Lee and Casey were poster kids for the most wonderful, normal family in the world, I would never want to be anywhere near Cindy especially as her Daughter in Law. Zenaida Gonzalez attorneys want Casey Anthony's tweets

Attorneys for the woman suing Casey Anthony for defamation want to know what, if anything, she has been tweeting about.

In a series of new filings Wednesday, attorneys for the Morgan & Morgan law firm requested copies of any Twitter posts Anthony may have made, and indicated they will again attempt to obtain her home address — this time from the Florida Department of Corrections.

In a request to produce, the attorneys for Zenaida Gonzalez instruct Anthony's defense to "produce any and all twitter posts by Casey Anthony."

So is Anthony tweeting?

"We do have an indication that that is the case," attorney Matt Morgan told the Sentinel on Wednesday.

Roy Kronk, the former Orange County meter reader who discovered Caylee Anthony's remains in 2008, is now suing the website Examiner.com, accusing the site of defaming him in a 2010 report.

In the civil complaint, posted online by CFNews13.com, Kronk claims Examiner falsely reported he was working with Casey Anthony or acting on her information when he made the discovery.

Kronk is also suing the National Enquirer, bounty hunter Leonard Padilla and Anthony. His 2008 find marked one of several peaks in the national media firestorm surrounding Caylee's death.
