(Cleveland) - It's one of the most brutal murders a Cleveland homicide detective has ever seen. That's what the officer told a judge at 37-year-old Annette Cobb's arraignment Tuesday.

Cobb was charged over the weekend with the aggravated murder of her husband. According to police, 57-year-old Rick Cobb was stabbed 37 times.

On Friday morning, Cleveland police responded to a 911 call from a home near West 158th and Puritas. During the call, Mrs. Cobb told a dispatcher that she had stabbed her husband. She quite calmly says, "He is dead." When the dispatcher asks again if she stabbed him, Cobb says, "Yes."

Annette Cobb apparently threatened police when they arrived and investigators say alcohol was a factor in the crime.

Bond was set at $1 million.

So far, no exact motive in the killing has been revealed.

CLEVELAND -- A 38-year-old Cleveland woman was sentenced today to life in prison for fatally stabbing her husband.
Annette Cobb will be eligible to apply for parole in 15 years.

She stabbed Rick Cobb 37 times in their Puritas Avenue home then called 9-1-1 and calmly told the dispatcher that she had killed him.

Annette Cobb was previously convicted of felonious assault for a 2005 incident in which she struck and injured a child while driving drunk on West 117th Street. Cobb was sentenced to two years in prison but asked for an early release based, in part, on a letter from Rick Cobb.

Rick Cobb wrote a passionate letter pleading that his then-fiancee, Annette Pettis, be released early.

"You only find love once in life. I found that with her. Now all I want is to spend what time I have left with her before I die,'' Cobb wrote in the letter dated November 2005. The early release was denied.
