Homeless Man Is Rich Now- Family Now Eager to Reunite and Help

    [IMG][/IMG]
A private investigator had a special message for a homeless man on a park bench in Utah: you're rich!

The man found out that he had more than a few pennies to his name thanks to some hard work by the detective and an astute radio listener.

Max Meltzer, who was described as a drifter that looked like an average man down on his luck with a shopping cart, was left a "significant" amount of dough by his brother, who recently passed away, the Telegraph reported.

Meltzer was found by a private detective, David Lundberg.

Thanks to some help from a listener on a local radio station who told the investigator where to look, Lundberg spotted him in a park on Saturday.

Now, he's waiting to reunite him with his eager family who is flying in from New York. They last heard from him in September of 2010.

"He'll no longer be living on the street or in abandoned storage sheds," he told the Telegraph.

"He'll be able to have a normal life, and be able to have a home, provide for himself, and purchase clothing, food and health care". Lundberg described Meltzer as "very sweet” and articulate, with a few emotional issues his family is eager to help him take care of.

"He was beat up. His money was taken. His watch was taken. He's been in kind of a surly element the last couple of years,” he told the Deseret News.

They sent him a number to call, I'm happy for him and hope no one takes advantage of him, they could seriously be concerned about him but too many times it happens that no one cares when your poor, hit it rich and everyone is your freind... I am glad his brother thought of him...

Lundberg but said the man's brother who died of cancer last year left him a "significant" amount in his will.
Melitzer has been homeless for years and last had mail correspondence with his family in September. But when family members gave him a number to phone, he never called.

Don Hill, house manager at the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake, told Lundberg on Friday that he had seen Melitzer near the facility two days earlier.

Hill said he has known the homeless man for four years, and Melitzer stayed at places like the Rescue Mission when he's not roaming between Salt Lake City and Ogden.

Earlier this month, a police officer found Melitzer sleeping in a car in an Ogden salvage yard.

Lundberg said Melitzer was taken Saturday to an undisclosed location in Salt Lake City and doesn't want to talk to the media right now. But Lundberg said he would talk to family members about possibly holding a news conference next week.

The investigator said he found Melitzer with the help of a tip. He received about 60 or 70 such calls after news about his search went out Friday.

"Someone called today (Saturday) and said they saw him at Pioneer Park. I thought it was another crazy tip, but sure enough, there he was," Lundberg said.

    He'll spend it all on;

    ...or....

Yet know, my master, God omnipotent,
Is mustering in his clouds on our behalf
Armies of pestilence; and they shall strike
Your children yet unborn and unbegot,
That lift your vassal hands against my head
And threat the glory of my precious crown.

Maybe he just didn't want to be found. Maybe he's happier on the streets, and maybe that's why he's there.

I truly hope he gets what he wants, and if he wants to stay on the street let him do that.

They didnt care enough before when he was struggling, starving and eating out of garbage cans to send a PI to find him, why all of a sudden the interest? They are looking forward to being "re-united with him" when no one was looking forward to that before except for possibly his brother when he was dying, maybe thats why the brother left it all to him, to say sorry brother I wasnt there... the rest of the family should just "feck off" and send their phone numbers now to see if he calls... I am looking forward to the excuses on this one and how they "love him ever so" now...
