After an investigation, a teacher was arrested and accused of inappropriately touching a teen student at a school for severely emotionally disturbed children and adolescents.

Child Protective Services were contacted by the Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents on May 19 to report abuse that happened earlier in the day. CPS and Montgomery County Police started an investigation.

Police said 26-year-old teacher Lindsey Froehlich from Germantown, had established a relationship between herself and the student, which escalated into inappropriate touching by the teacher. The incident happened during school hours at the school in Rockville.

Froehlich was charged with fourth-degree sexual offense and sexual abuse of a minor. She is behind bars at the Montgomery County Detention Center on $250,000 bond. The school placed her on administrative leave.
