Thanks Groovy and the gang for all the information during the relative downtime in this continuing saga.

This thread covers the twists and turns of Casey's capital murder trial phase and eventual sentencing if convicted. Pretrial motions from the defense in progress now and most or all have been denied.

Thanks for starting this tread. I tape the pre-trial every weekday on In Session so this thread will be a great way to share opinions. And when the trial starts in May there will be fireworks. A lot of us met from the original Caylee thread. Maybe some of those who are still around will migrate back here!

It would be rally nice if we could somehow have a page with only the evidence, depositions, docu dumps, etc. I could try to make one...so we have all the info in one place rather than searching through everything, but I am curious if it would be worth it since we can just do a google search and or find it on just about all the news sites. What do you guys think? Do we need one, or are we good to go?

Oh, this thread feels all nice and new (dneil looks around)..... not 200 pages to load. :) It is interesting to go back to the old threads and read... but I think I like this right here :)

I agree it would be nice to have a place all organized and neat but also there are some other places that are the greatest sites to get all the info that you want, Val at the Hinky Meter has the most organized info anywhere and all right where you can find it. I like coming here to vent, to be able to express the outrage that we all feel about this bitch and her entire dysfunction family. But will abide by the rules if I have too! LOL

I love DD too... the Hinky Meter's site is great and there are others.... no need to duplicate their already excellent work ... We can use theirs as a reference but thanks for wanting to put the effort in.

I couldn't agree more w/ my fellow DDer's. There is SO much info and opinions out there in regard to this case ~ it's nice to read at other sites ~ but for me ~ I am at home here. We can vent, swear, mock, cry and just go crazy, whatever LOL In the end, it's all about a beautiful 34 month old baby girl named ♥ Caylee ♥, who was viciously and cruelly killed by her own mother. And if that wasn't bad enough, the rest of her family who claimed who have loved her, actually DIDN'T, because they have decided to side with the killer. So all she has now is US to cherish her memory and that we will do and see that she gets the justice she deserves!!!!

CFB: What about this case strikes a chord?

It speaks to so many issues, to the responsibility parents have, to the responsibility grandparents have, to the vulnerability of children, to the fact that this could play out in the midst of what might seem a normal family. I think a lot of people find it relatable. They know people like the people in this story, grandparents like the Anthonys, women like Casey, children like Caylee. A lot of stories happen like this, but this one just seems to capture a lot of those fundamental things. It seems so extreme on some levels, but some people go, 'My sister is like that.' Even if you're not identifying with Casey Anthony, you know somebody like that in your life. Based on what we hear, the audience says it's outraged, but there's an undertone of identification with the anxieties that a story like this points out.

As more depositions are released publicly, they show a pattern of Baez and Mason repeatedly inquiring about media leaks with key Sheriff's Office detectives and crime-scene investigators. Here's an example of the exchanges:

•Crime-scene investigator Michael Vincent

Baez asked Vincent about a day that Anthony's car was inspected at the Sheriff's Office garage. Vincent explained that the garage door was opened sometimes and closed other times.

Baez asked Vincent if he saw the media outside.

"Not until after we opened the door. I didn't know the media was out there. I thought everybody was still back at the house," Vincent said.

Baez asked Vincent if he was aware someone from the Sheriff's Office called a TV station and told them the car would be processed. Vincent said no.

Baez asked Vincent whether he knew who contacted the media. Vincent again said no.

"And did it ever come down from anyone to leave the door open so that the media could see?" Baez asked.

"No, absolutely not. That door was left open because of the smell in the garage," Vincent said.

•Detective Eric Edwards

Baez asked Edwards whether he ever leaked anything to the media. Edwards said never.

Baez also asked Edwards whether he ever did anything to investigate who was leaking what. Edwards said no.

"Was it a priority to investigate who was leaking things into the media in this case?" Baez asked.

"Not at my level," Edwards said. "That would be something — the administrative level …"

You know, I keep looking at JBP and wondered why his one eye looked funny or sank lower than the other one. I had no idea of this:

Perry cocks his head slightly to the right and scans the courtroom to see if anyone else has anything impertinent to say. The slight adjustment gives him an air of contemplation, but it is born of necessity. The judge only has one good eye.

He was 6 years old when he lost his right one. He and a friend were swordfighting with butcher knives, pretending to be Robin Hood. Perry zigged when he should have zagged, and the knife went into his right eye. Today, his eyelid rests low over a prosthesis, giving him a perpetually sleepy look.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The judge in the Casey Anthony case on Monday issued a proposed list of TV channels that the sequestered jury would be able to watch during the upcoming murder trial.

The list includes 23 channels, including Lifetime, Lifetime Movie Network, TNT and USA Network.

The state has filed an objection to Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network but may withdraw the objection if it can see the programing schedule for the channels for the months of May, June and July.

I can totally see that. It's a creepy glimpse inside her mind. If she can lead a team of homicide detectives down a hallway to nowhere, she has the ability to kill her kid, dump her in the forest and go part like any other brat. But hey, in her defense, at least she put hearts on the duct tape. That was precious.
