BRATTLEBORO, Vt. -- A Brattleboro man was arrested on child sex abuse charges for the second time Tuesday, police said.
Joseph Peter Childs, 38, was charged with possession of child pornography and promoting a sexual conduct with a child after police examined his personal computer.
Last month, Childs was accused of sexual misconduct with a child under the age of 10 on two occasions.
After that charge surfaced, he reportedly went into hiding in the woods, building a lean-to out of pine boughs and hiding out for nearly three weeks before police tracked him down.
If convicted of these new charges, Childs could face up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to $30,000 or both.
