This show is one of my many guilty little pleasures...well... reality tv guilty pleasures. Its a train wreck....drama....and that's what attracts people.
I agree with @ImmortalOne that Janelles Mom is a big problem....and never let Janelle even have a chance to take care of Jace. Janelle never did anything right and she would just take over...so Janelle basically was like "fuck it".
He is the most adorable little boy....I really do wish they could find a way to get along for Jace and she can eventually get custody back and dump her loser BF.

Those girls aren't struggling. They have places to live. Daddy or mommy steps in. They get something from MTV for doing the show. The American public and our teenagers are not stupid. They do make it look easy. Easy as hell.

I was a teen mom. I couldn't have a house. I couldn't rent an apartment. I didn't have mommy and daddy to help me. I didn't have daddy buying me groceries. I didn't have mommy and daddy babysitting so I could go out for a 'teen night'. I did it on my own, fully. I lived with friends, worked 2-3 jobs, and did what the hell I should have. These girls being "teen moms" is a fucking joke and a half.

Well, sounds like you struggled more. But yeah...we all handle things differently. And by no means does the show glamorize teen pregnancy nor make it look easy. Having to handle work, and school and take care of a baby is a struggle for anyone. Hell, I was 32 married, great job, etc etc and I had many days I struggled with being a new mom. ;)

I have worked hard to stay out of this thread because this show makes my skin crawl; But I can't not say anything. My 17 year old daughter has a 1 week old baby-- and she is ferocious in anything regarding to him (very good IMO) She was a junior in high school. She was motivated about not wanting to go back to school after he was born and quitting was never an option. We got her into an alternative program and she completed 1.5 years of high school in just over a month--with B's or better in all subjects and will walk with this year's graduates.

To those that say MTV isn't glamorizing teen pregnancy--It's on TV in it's own time slot-- to a teenager that's pretty friggin glamorous!

Kailyn lived with her BF and his parents and now lives with her mother..correct. Yes, Janelle lives wherever she can, and with whoever will take her. Chelsea lives in a house that her DAD pays for...she used to have a roomate, but her ugly ass BF hated her so she moved out...then he turned back into the dick he always was and he moved out. SO now she is there with just baby Aubry.
Leah has the twins and did get married.
This is all up to date as far as the show goes .....but I believe that it was all filmed like 6 months ago...so who knows whats going on now other than Janelle was arrested.
And I think the show is on to TRY to make teen pregnancy and raising babies so young look hard....BUT..then again....yes they are on tv...so it might make some young impressionable girls think if they have babies....they will just score a spot on MTV and thats how they will take care of their kids.

I have never seen this show, but I really want to. I think my SIL should be on it. The latest, since having a baby at 16: her and baby daddy broke up two weeks ago, she has already found a replacement who happens to be her ex-bf. The ex-bf (now her current) is a sick child of 17, who already has a record for assault and domestic violence against his ex-gf. Meanwhile, while my SIL was prego, this fucker was sending her emails telling her that they should run away together and take the baby and he hopes the baby is not a redhead like the father. Guess what; the baby is a total redhead and a junior to boot. I honestly fear for this baby's safety. Her dear old mom has no issues with any of this, and happily drives my SIL and her now one month old baby to spend time with her newest love.

Hubs had a huge to-do with the mother over this and her justification is that this would happen either way and it is better if it's not behind her back.

And people still wonder why I only visit them twice a year and why they are not allowed to babysit my child. For the record, if my own kid wants to do stupid shit, then she damn well better do it behind my back and she better hope and pray I do not find out.

I watched some last night right after it was on for a full hour of NG. I flipped back and forth because every couple minutes there was a commercial break and I don't know why, but I can not take that many commercial breaks when I'm watching t.v. So I saw some stuff and I wonder how much is scripted since their narration certainly sounds like it.

So because of this thread, I've checked the show out on www.mtv.ca. I can't help but laugh hysterically at Jenelle's mother. Has anyone here seen The Fighter? She is an exact double of Melissa Leo's psychotic-trailer-trash mom character. It's fucking hilarious. I almost cried. Even the accent is similar despite the whole North Carolina/Boston difference. I liked it when Jenelle got up onto her moral high-chair and started slamming her boyfriend when she's a wreck herself. You can't help someone if they won't help themselves.

I think the show is horribly staged/acted. Checked it out once and I won't be watching it again.

The girls get $5,000 per episode. They get half just after they are done filming, and the other half after the entire season has aired. So, the struggle with money, at the time, is real. I don't think this show glamorizes being a teen mom whatsoever. At least I don't feel that way when I watch it. Even at 25, it still makes me not want to have any children.

Leah lives in a house (trailer really) that her (now) husband's mother owns. Kailyn goes from either her boyfriend's house to her on and off supportive mother's home. Jenelle is a skank bag trailer trash hoe who lives with her mother or couch crashing with her dirty, loser boyfriend. Chelsea is the only one who is really spoiled. Her dad bought her a house and is supporting her while she struggles to get her GED. *eyeroll* I like her, though, she seems like a down to earth, nice girl

I feel the amount of money that they receive is a fair price considering they are having their lives documented. They all get the same amount of face time, whether good mom or
bad mom. I feel the only bad mom is Jenelle. (I am referring only to Teen Mom 2). Sure, they don't have it as hard as some teen mother's who aren't on television, but I still think it shows a good example of what NOT to do.

Jenelle pisses me off to no end. Her mom is a little crazy with the yelling and she is terrible at communicating, but Jenelle should not have custody of that little boy. She is a disgusting example of a mother. The only things important to her are partying and her broke ass boyfriend. She stole her moms credit card like it was NOTHING. I don't even want to get into this, lol.

I think that MTV should kick her off the show and not allow her to be on the next season due to all of the arrests she's piled up. We all know that won't happen, though, because it's ratings gold.

FIRST ON 3: 'Teen Mom' sentenced for viral fight video

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) -- A judge has sentenced MTV "Teen Mom 2" star and Oak Island resident Jenelle Evans for her role in a fight caught on video that went viral on the Internet.
