The rest of the very lengthy obit/memorial can be found at the link.LOS ANGELES – Elizabeth Taylor, the violet-eyed film goddess whose sultry screen persona, stormy personal life and enduring fame and glamour made her one of the last of the old-fashioned movie stars and a template for the modern celebrity, died Wednesday at age 79.
She was surrounded by her four children when she died of congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she had been hospitalized for about six weeks, said publicist Sally Morrison.

On a side note, she and my mom looked strikingly similar when they were in their 20s (which was at different times, of course). Naturally, I didn't inherit those genes.

I was sad to hear on her passing. As a young girl I idolized Elizabeth Taylor....a true natural beauty, reminds me of my mother in her day.

Elizabeth Taylor Buried in $11,000 Casket
FBElizabeth Taylor was buried on Thursday in a traditional Jewish service conducted by Rabbi Jerry Cutler. The legendary actress was laid to rest in a casket costing $11,000.
According to a report from TMZ, the family wanted nothing but the finest for Liz Taylor. And that did in fact include an $11,000 casket.
Details about the casket include that it is considered to be a traditional Jewish casket. That means there are no nails involved in its creation whatsoever. Instead a special glue is used to fuse the portions of the casket together.
Elizabeth Taylor's body is resting in a casket beautifully lined in red velvet. How interesting this is, since she starred in the critically acclaimed 1944 movie National Velvet when she was just 12 years old. The casket also had a matching red velvet pillow.
Taylor was a total babe - one of the few women I'd go lesbian for.
