An alleged child abuser who was profiled on the "America's Most Wanted" Web site is in Lancaster County Prison after being on the run since May.
Felton Lee Gardner was arrested Jan. 28 in Delaware and extradited to Lancaster late last week, according to officials.
Lancaster city police charged Gardner, 35, with aggravated assault and other offenses for allegedly beating his stepdaughter between February and April 2008.
Investigators allege Gardner punished the 3-year-old girl by burning her with cigarettes, holding her head under cold water and beating her with a belt.
Gardner left Lancaster city after police got word of his alleged torturous punishment techniques, investigators say.
Gardner drew the attention of "
America's Most Wanted," and the television program featured his case on its Web site during his time on the lam. A tipster provided officials with information that the fugitive was in Delaware.
After being returned to Lancaster, Gardner spent a day as a free man when the local charges were withdrawn because of a technicality in filing. He was rearrested Friday on a parole violation and the same child-abuse charges have been filed — minus the technicality.
