3yo Sexually Assaulted by 10yo

Not a whole lot of info on this one yet but holy hell a 10yo really?

EL PASO, Texas -- The Dona Ana County Sheriff's Office says it's investigating the sexual assault of a 3-year-old that was allegedly committed by a 10-year-old in Dona Ana County, New Mexico.

The sheriff's office released few details, only saying the victim was taken to Memorial Medical Center's emergency room in Las Cruces at 5 p.m. Tuesday. They confirm the 10-year-old was taken into custody Tuesday night.

Reading about child rape leaves you with a huge urge to puke. But reading about a child victimizing another child, and one as young as this one, makes you puke your gutts out with out a second thought. GAWD

I wonder if it was an older sibling?
That he he would even think much less do it, makes you wonder what environment he's around amongst other things.

I read that the 10 yo is in custody.

Do we know whether the 10 yr old was male or female? Not like it matters really, just curious.

I know the majority of the ppl on this site believe if a child is acting out sexually that means they were abused themselves. I don't necessarily believe that is the case 100% of the time. There are exceptions. That being said I hope the parents of the 10 yr old are investigated and I hope that BOTH of these children get the counseling they need.

I also wonder, if two children the same age act out sexually together, is it abuse? If not, at what age span does it become abuse? 1 yr? 2?

I was just thinking the same thing. I think a lot of these kids that are acting out in a sexual manner just have never been given "the talk" and they are just acting on urges and impulses. I gave my daughter different age appropriate versions of "the talk" as needed. I have explained what urges are and what is and is not okay.

As for the age differences where it becomes kids experimenting vs abuse I myself am curious to know the answer. I guess if one the kids was forced to do anything that would qualify as abuse not matter the age difference. I need to do some research on the age difference.

I'd be curious (and revolted), to know the extent of the assault, the manner AND if there was other signs of violence. Would be telling about this kid.

Not necessarily prior sexual abuse with this kid but you know something VERY wrong with him. Since most children don't act out violently and sexually on impulses, my thinking the kids is fucked in the head. But most things don't surprises me anymore.

I realize that, I was just generalizing. BUT I will bet the offender is male. I have not heard of one case, (best to my knowledge), of a child rape offender who is female.

Yes, I'm one of those that wouldn't be surprised if the ten year old was a victim of sexual abuse and is acting out; I think it's one of those things kids wouldn't do normally (I could be mistaken but I haven't heard of another case like this were abuse wasn't in the picture) unless they were exposed/victim of it in some way.

Still, hearing cases like this truly messed up - where the bloody hell were the parents??

When I was 3, I was forcefully molested by a 7 year old neighbor who duct taped me in his basement then went and got another 7 year old boy in the neighborhood so they could... see how things worked, I guess. No penetration, but sexual assault nonetheless. The aggressor boy had never been abused. He was being raised by his single mother, a nurse, who never brought boyfriends or strange men to the house. This kid and I had been playing together for a couple years and he had never talked or acted in a sexual manner before this incident. But 7 year olds don't often understand that no means no, especially when dealing with a younger child. So, what could have been totally innocent experimentation turned ugly because I was forced into it.

So, there. Now you've heard of another case like this where abuse wasn't in the picture. And, honestly, I think most cases that involve one pre-pubescent child assaulting another is just like this... kids not understanding boundaries. Sexual experimentation is completely normal, even from ages as young as 2 years old. But you run into the same "consent" issues that occur when kids that age are trying to, say, share toys.
