Zandra Bennett, 18 missing may be in danger, who may be with wanted fugitive

Nampa police are asking for the public’s help in locating a Nampa high school senior who hasn’t been heard from since mid-February and is believed to be with a wanted fugitive.

Zandra M. Bennett, 18, had a falling out with her mother on Feb. 13, and she didn’t show up to school the next day, said Nampa Police Detective Brice King.

King said Bennett has been involved in a relationship with Anthony Toliver, a 38-year-old registered sex offender who lives in Garden City, and she is believed to be with him now. Toliver is wanted by the Idaho Department of Correction. He is now a wanted fugitive for failing to check in with his parole officer as required by law.

King said Bennett has been a crime victim in the past and takes medication for disorders. Police say she has not contacted any friends or family since Feb. 13, and they fear she may be in danger or held against her will. She has been listed nationwide as a missing person.

Toliver has ties in the Treasure Valley and Tacoma, Wa. Police are hoping someone will recognize the pair from the photos they’ve released to the media.

Toliver has a tattoo on his upper left chest with the letters “JEN.” He has known ties across the Treasure Valley and in the Tacoma, Washington area.

Was the falling out between mother and daughter anything to do with the daughter's inappropriate friendship with a middle aged man, by any chance?

She was found safe.

Article dated March 2, 2011:

Authorities in Canyon County say they've found a missing 18-year-old originally thought to be with a registered sex offender.

Nampa Police had been looking for Zandra Bennett. Police said they thought she was with Anthony Toliver, who is now wanted by the Idaho Department of Correction for absconding from supervision and is currently considered a fugitive.

On Friday, police say she was found in Nampa and was OK. She was not with Toliver.

Thank God she wasn't with him. It might have saved her life.

I know it goes on all the time, but I would honestly have gone off on my 18 year old daughter if I found she was in a relationship with a 38 year old man, especially a sex offender. No telling what might have happened to her eventually.

Is Toliver still on the run? I'm assuming so, since nothing was mentioned about him.

A wanted Idaho fugitive is now in a Kansas jail.

Officers arrested 38-year-old Anthony Toliver Wednesday at a motel in Topeka.

He was wanted after Garden City Police discovered he wasn't living at the address he gave when he registered as a sex offender.

Police were concerned he was with a missing 18-year-old woman from Nampa.

Zandra Bennett was found on March 4, but she wasn't with Toliver.

Toliver is now awaiting extradition to Idaho.
