5-Month-Old Stabbed To Death By Teen Dad Christopher Glass

A 5-month-old baby died Tuesday after being snatched by his teenage father who led Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies on a short pursuit that ended when he crashed his car into a train station and was fatally shot as he ran away, authorities said.

The sheriff's department issued a child abduction alert Tuesday after the 17-year-old father grabbed his son from a baby-sitter in this high desert city, called the mother and threatened to harm the child, Capt. Mike Parker said in a statement.

Deputies responding to the Amber Alert spotted the teen driving a Pontiac SUV around 3:30 p.m. and began to follow him. The deputies saw the driver motioning in a manner that "appeared as though he was stabbing the baby as he drove," Parker said.

When deputies tried to stop him, the teen led deputies on a brief car chase before crashing into a building at a Metrolink commuter rail station. The teen got out of the car, ran a few blocks and broke into a house where he was shot and killed by deputies, Parker said.
    [...]

The Amber Alert identified the father as Christopher Earl Glass, his son as Christopher Earl Glass, Jr. It also said that Glass drove to the mother's house and got into an argument before driving away and texting to her that he was going to stab his son.

Glass did not have custody rights, according to the county Department of Children and Family Services.

Deputies chased the elder Glass on foot and saw him trying to break into the home of a family he didn't know about a block from the transportation center and a deputy-involved shooting occurred.

A second shooting then occurred inside the home. The suspect died but no deputies were injured.

Other deputies ran to the vehicle, picked up the 5-month-old and raced him to a hospital, but he was pronounced dead there.
    [...]

"He was very excited. He was like any other dad, he was just happy to have a baby," said Bobby Hudson, a cousin of the father.
    [..]

Family members say Christopher Glass had been suffering emotional problems since the death of his grandmother last year.

This shit is happening way, way too often. Absolutely agree, he did that to get back at the mother of the baby.
The Amber Alert identified the father as Christopher Earl Glass, his son as Christopher Earl Glass, Jr. It also said that Glass drove to the mother's house and got into an argument before driving away and texting to her that he was going to stab his son.
It's always family saying he had problems mental issues, clearly, he's mental BUT I think people have come to using children far too easily as a pawn in there demented, twisted ways of thinking. Instead of dealing with life on terms that are not always so easy to deal with, they go for the drama, "I'll fuck you over" attitude. What a pussy and a useless human being. I'm glad the fucker is dead but I wish he had suffered dearly first.

So sorry baby Christopher a fair chance at life and the hope for happiness should have been yours.

Something of this magnitude was always my greatest fear with my oldest. The mother must have felt so helpless just waiting.

I agree it's to get back and the other parent, but goddamn. I mean, looking at a five month old baby - any baby let alone yours - and then stabbing it? Hearing the screams? Being in such a state that you're oblivious to the pain you're causing? Jesus! Turn the knife on yourself, you misguided fuck! (not you, walkingeagle, of course). Just, really? UGH!

I would prefer to take that knife myself than to read about this stuff with babies! I'm an old fart, I have no real future. Who knows what this kid could have done for the world!

Karma is a bitch and in this case it was instantaneous.

While some of you don't think he suffered enough I believe his suffering has just begun and that it will last for all eternity.

Fly free, beautiful baby Christopher. It breaks my heart that this happened to you.
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

Some sensed trouble before teen stabbed his baby to death

    http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la...,1625677.story

Christopher Earl Glass' friends and coaches struggle to understand how the 17-year-old, who had a promising future and an intense connection to his girlfriend, could have killed their son as deputies watched helplessly.
Even for high school sweethearts, friends say, they were intense. They seemed to spend every moment together — and when they were apart, he could peer at the tattoo on his arm for a constant reminder: Avion, her name.

They were juniors when she got pregnant, friends said. When the baby came, she updated her Facebook page: "My Son Is Finally Here." He followed suit on Twitter: "G0t A S0N He My W0Rld."

Still, some classmates said they sensed trouble. "He liked her a lot. Too much," one friend said of 17-year-old Christopher Earl Glass.

Detectives and friends were still trying to piece together Wednesday how their story came to its chilling conclusion, with Glass stabbing their 5-month-old baby to death in his car as deputies pursued close behind, unable to intervene. Minutes later, authorities said, deputies chased the teen down, and when he charged them with knife in hand, they shot him dead.

And now Mr. Glass Sr is trying to explain to that very same grandmother why he did what he did. Are ass-whuppins allowed in Heaven? I bet if not, God would make an exception in this case.

Ah, I remember the intensity of my then love at 17. It was all consuming, a fairytale beginning and not grounded in the real world---at first.

I would venture to say this young man was rather too consumed, obsessed and probably had no real desire to share Avion. When baby Christopher came around he became more of a threat than a blessing between them. Imagine IF there is any truth to this speculation; he killed his baby as he was jealous over Avion giving him the love and attention he needed. Add in any possible mental issues, that's a recipe for disaster.

Eventually most of our grandmothers, fathers, mothers and other family members die too, yeh they become distraught but it dont cause them to run around stabbing their babies, this is just a lame excuse put forth by the family members struggling to understand why. Such a beautiful child this poor baby was...
Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one...

I have to agree with silva on this one. Punishing the other parent seems secondary to his obsession here!

Christopher Earl Glass Murders Baby Son, Despite Restraining Order (VIDEO)

    http://thestir.cafemom.com/baby/1169...s_murders_baby

Article about Christopher Glass and others that took out anger with exes on children, etc.

    Video footage of Christopher Glass
    http://www.ktla.com/videobeta/ef270f...-329685843118/

A restraining order sadly wasn't enough in this case, and it's often not enough for many violent offenders who find themselves so out of sorts with anger. They feel the only revenge against the mother of their children is to take the child out -- and usually themselves.
It would appear all was definitely not well in this relationship.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ice-chase.html

The baby's mother, Avion Moore, received a text from Glass moments after he had kidnapped his son, Christopher Jnr.

She said: 'It read, if I don't meet him on the corner he was going to take off with the baby. He said he was going to harm the baby. He said he had a knife and if I didn't come outside he was going to kill the baby.

'I didn't write back. I called the police.'

She explained that she had custody over the tot and that Glass had supervised visitation rights.
So they were not a couple (at least as far as she was concerned).
