http://www.mercurynews.com/news/ci_17514363A 5-month-old baby died Tuesday after being snatched by his teenage father who led Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies on a short pursuit that ended when he crashed his car into a train station and was fatally shot as he ran away, authorities said.
The sheriff's department issued a child abduction alert Tuesday after the 17-year-old father grabbed his son from a baby-sitter in this high desert city, called the mother and threatened to harm the child, Capt. Mike Parker said in a statement.
Deputies responding to the Amber Alert spotted the teen driving a Pontiac SUV around 3:30 p.m. and began to follow him. The deputies saw the driver motioning in a manner that "appeared as though he was stabbing the baby as he drove," Parker said.
When deputies tried to stop him, the teen led deputies on a brief car chase before crashing into a building at a Metrolink commuter rail station. The teen got out of the car, ran a few blocks and broke into a house where he was shot and killed by deputies, Parker said.

The Amber Alert identified the father as Christopher Earl Glass, his son as Christopher Earl Glass, Jr. It also said that Glass drove to the mother's house and got into an argument before driving away and texting to her that he was going to stab his son.
Glass did not have custody rights, according to the county Department of Children and Family Services.
