Ashley Boones Kids Found Safe After She Lied About Carjacking

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A Memphis woman has been jailed after falsely claiming her three children were taken during a Wednesday morning carjacking.

Three children were found safe at a family member's house after their mother said they were inside a vehicle that was carjacked Wednesday morning.

Ashley Boone, 22, told police she stopped at McLemore and Wellington just after 6:00 a.m. because of a flat tire.

Boone told officers that as she worked on her car, an unknown suspect approached and offered to help her. Boone said the suspect then got into the car and drove off, with her three children, ages 4, 3 and 2 still inside.

Melvin Sparks, who lives nearby, said Boone banged on his door asking for help.

"She was crying the whole time," Sparks said. "We gave her the phone and she was calling the police and we was trying to get some information about what happened, and she pretty much said that someone was helping her fix her flat, and they jumped in the car and pulled off with the kids, and she was very hysterical."

Memphis police issued an AMBER Alert as they searched the city for the children, who were located around 8:00 a.m. at a family member's house.

Then, just after 8:30 a.m., police called off their search for the woman's car due to a lack of credible evidence.

This could have turned out like too many cases we read on, so damn glad this bitch apparently doesn't read.

I'm glad her "attention seeking whore" behavior didn't involve hurting the kids like driving them into a lake or making them sick.

WTF is up with this? Why would she make a story like this up? Something is wrong here . . . what did she have to gain by this and will she be held accountable for exploiting the police department and the Amber Alert System?
