BEECHGROVE, Tenn. -- The state of Tennessee issued an endangered child alert on Monday afternoon after a 13-year-old girl left home with her 2-month-old child.
The mother of the teen found that Brianna Nicole Jones had left their Coffee County home at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday without permission.
The teen's mother, Misty Jones, reported that her daugther took her 2-month-old son, Michael Adian Wayne Jones, with her as well. Misty Jones said she found a 4-page letter early Monday moring that said Brianna was leaving and not to look for her.
Authorities believe that Jones is headed to Tampa, Fla., possibly to the baby's father's residence.
Police said the father of the infant is believed to be a man by the name of Matthew Fults.
Jones was last seen wearing a black shirt with gray tribal design on her right shoulder and blue jeans.
Brianna was on probation for shoplifting, and her family said she might be afraid that her son will be taken away from her.
