Authorities said a man who was caught having sex with show hogs will have his case presented to the Leflore County Grand Jury next month. Andrew Lee Nash, 52, was arrested on Dec. 3, 2010 after police set up surveillance cameras in the owner's stalls near U.S. Highway 82 and the Yazoo River.

Greenwood Police Chief Henry Purnell said the hogs were examined by a local veterinarian, during a routine examination, and the owner was told that four of the hogs had a vaginal infection.

"The owner of the animals knew someone was messing with his animals," said Chief Investigator Huntley Nevels. "And the veterinarian confirmed the sexual assault. So, the owner contacted police and the officers staked it out and caught him out there."

Nash, who lives in the 700 block of Mississippi Avenue, was arrested at the scene and charged with 12 counts of unnatural intercourse.

No, male animals respond to a pheromone that females put off when they're in heat...not the blood itself.

Which explains why all the male dogs in the vicinity go nuts and you have to lock your bitch in the house. Not that that stops them from scratching on your door, just keeps your dog from making pups with unintended partners. (It's very similar to having a teen daughter)

I had to ask because I googled it and only came up with human rape.

The reason I asked is because we've taken care of a small hound dog since summer time and when she first arrived she was bleeding. A male dog was paying attention to her but she wouldn't let him near her and then, the whole time she was here she never bled again. That was like 8 months, well she disappeared for a week here in January - and came back-bleeding. Again the male dog is paying attention to her, she is holding her tail funny.

With a little detective work I found out the owner is a sex offender. Some kid(14?) was down here the other day, calling for her but she wouldn't go and when he saw me looking he acted suspicious. He would turn away from the house but I could hear him calling her. He'd walk up and down the street like he was doing something he shouldn't be. I haven't been around an unspade pet in a while so i've lost my familiarality with heat cycles but it's weird she bled on those occasions. Plus all these animal raping stories seem all too common.

My dog bleeds about every 9 months. That is her cycle. Other dogs cycles vary.
