Tri-State teen missing since Friday - Chelsea Moore *found*

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - Evansville Police are looking for a teenager who has been missing since Friday afternoon.

Chelsea Moore, 16, is diabetic and needs four insulin shots a day.

Chelsea's mother tells 14 News she's been missing since 2 p.m. Friday and only had one shot before she went missing.

Her mother says she walked off without any of her medications or money.

Not her first time "missing". From November 2010:

Officers say Moore has been diagnosed with mental illness, diabetes and is insulin dependent.

Moore's mother told us she has seen activity on her daughter's Facebook.

She was located that time on Saturday.

I'm glad this kid was found safe, but, it didn't REALLY sound like a suspicious situation, to me, in the first place!

I think that her mom was a little divisive in using the whole "My child is in immediate danger because she needs insulin" angle, too.
A diabetic who skips her insulin injections ISN'T in immediate danger.
If they skip MEALS and/or take too MUCH insulin, letting their blood sugar DROP, that would be a danger!
I suspect mom knew this perfectly well.

Stories like this one, where media attention is given to a spoiled-brat, white, teenaged girl, who 'walked away' of her own volition, HAVE to be hard to take for the family of Phylicia Barnes!
Their child was most likely abducted by a stranger, in broad daylight, 4 weeks ago.... and not a PEEP from the media.
Maybe if Phylicia was 'blonde'...

She still hasn't been found (this time) that I can find. She is actually getting less media attention that Phylicia Barnes. Just that one article on WFIE and nothing in their local newspaper.

No - all of that refers to the time she went missing in November. Now she's run off again. Still no mention if she's been found this time.

Yeah, she's getting some attention, but, considering there is likely a dangerous predator on the loose and other young girls at risk...
I'm starting to get peeved there isn't more!
I mean, for the sake of the NEXT kid who might have the misfortune of crossing her abductor's path, I think the media is doing a shit-job of covering the story, yah know?
I'm not begrudging other kids getting the coverage they do, but I wish it were a little more equitable, or at LEAST to see more attention where more risk to the child is likely!
