14-Year-Old Chyanne Otto Hopes Antifreeze Will Do The Trick

A 14-year-old girl is facing charges in adult court for allegedly trying to poison her step-mother, according to an Oconto County criminal complaint.

Chyanne Otto made an initial court appearance Jan. 11 and was released on a $50,000 signature bond to the custody of her grandfather.
    [...]

In Wisconsin, homicide and attempted homicide charges filed against children ages 10 and older begin in adult court, and as such, are open to the public. The teen can seek to have the case sent to juvenile court, although no such petition has been filed yet in this case. The maximum penalty in this case would be 60 years in prison.

According to the criminal complaint, a parent of one of Chyanne's classmates notified police Chyanne was attempting to kill Dawn. Acting on the unnamed parent's tip, police checked Chyanne's journal, where this May 2010 entry was found: "I so want to kill Dawn, but she is pregnant. So I am going to kill her and the baby or just her and wait until October," the complaint states.

An undated journal entry reads: "Dawn won't die. I gave her a bunch of junk of stuff out of the garage last week and she is not dead, so I am doing it again with only antifreeze so hopefully it works."

The complaint cites Chyanne's parents and conversations Chyanne had with a therapist in which the girl admits she tried to kill her step-mother.

People never seem to learn that the internet is not a private place.

So what did stepmother do to make Chyanne want to kill her? Deny her an iPod?

@Tundratot Probobly tried to deny her hanging out with guys and being a slutty tramp from the looks of her... Can you hear the Lifetime Movie Trailer? She needed that dick and she needed it now, only a little antifreeze stood in her way...

I WANTED my stepdad to die but I never actually acted on it. Besides chemical imbalances & just being ape shit crazy...kids do NOT value life today.

Well... at least she waited until AFTER the baby was born, before attempting to murder it's mother...
    Oh. wait.
That would leave the infant motherless, living in a home with a psychotic, murderess, for a half-sister... And, being raised by a father, who's parenting track-record includes, having (apparently) raised the spawn of Satan!

Any idea how slow and PAINFUL, a death by anti-freeze poisoning is???
It causes acute kidney failure (followed by multiple organ failure) over a period of about 24 to 72 hours!
It is a heinous way to die...

Lady, if I were you, I'd take my baby and get out of there.

My girlfriends sister died in that manner. Noone is sure if it was her own doing or her boyfriends. And the kidneys failed her first. IDk for sure what else shut down or in what order but her mother watched it happen.

Yes, but with parents who gave her, an even white-trashier version of the name "Cheyenne", for her start in life...
I'm thinking she was probably conceived at the shallow-end of the gene pool.

I was once a teenage girl myself and I did all kids of crazy things and I could not begin to tell you why – Granted I did not kill my step-monster – but I really thought about it a lot. Teenage girls go through some dissassociative fugue state until they hit their mid-20’s and then they are normal again – did she actually try to hurt or step-mother or was she just doing a little conscious dreaming out loud?

    The article says:

I suspect (but don't know) that she continued to threaten her because the therapist would have to report it. Otherwise, I think it would be odd that the therapist broke confidentiality.

Very true - a therapist would have to issue a Tarasoff warning if they felt the girl posed a danger to others.

Extended families are never easy – thankfully my two “step-children” (I hate that word) are young enough that they call me “moms” and their mother “mommy” - but I am going to give them extra hugs this week. I would hate for them to feel that I was an intrusion on their lives and not an asset to our extended family.

My two daughters by another father are never called anything other than my own! That 4 letter qualifier feels, IMO at least, that it distances them from the other person.

I am one of 17 siblings. All variations of half-step-full-adopted. Rarely do we use those prefixes except to explain the relationship to folks that only know one part of our family or otherwise clear up confusion of others. My stepdad is closer to me than my real dad. My stepmom was truly a second mother to me. In fact, my dad attended her funeral (she was wife #2) with my mom (wife #1). It is not odd to see our whole family at gatherings... all sides and all relations.

I was acctually best friends with this girl for a short period of time. In that time, I found her to be a bit strange. She even told me about what happened- how her step mom constantly abused her and threatened to kill her several times. I don't know if I should believe it or not, because I found out she was sort of pathological. She left school a few weeks ago without word. I don't know what happened to her.
