GASTONIA, N.C. -- A Gastonia man is in jail, accused of peeping in to at least two homes in one neighborhood Sunday night. Police say when they caught the man, they had to use their Tasers several times to get him to cooperate.
Angela Paysour looked out her living room window Sunday night and noticed a man walking up and down the street. “I said, ‘Honey, there’s a guy out there. He’s completely naked other than his tennis shoes.’”
At first Paysour didn’t know what to think. Then she thought of her five kids, all in their bedrooms. “They didn’t see anything, but I think I probably would have gotten really mad if my girls or my boys had seen that.”
Paysour’s husband called 911. Police say when they arrived, the found Derrick Keener, still naked, looking in to a different home down the block. Keener got in to his car and drove off before officers eventually were able to arrest him.
"He was Tased several times, maybe as many as four times because he just kept resisting,” said Donna Lahser of the Gastonia Police Department. “Officers have to make an arrest and the sooner a suspect cooperates, the better for all concerned.”
Keener faces several charges, including two counts of peeping, two counts of indecent exposure and resisting arrest.
