Crown lawyer Lisa Miles is seeking a prison sentence of nine to 12 months.
"At 29, he certainly knew what he was doing when he threatened her," Miles said during sentencing submissions. "He manipulated and betrayed her trust."

In August 2007, he e-mailed her a link to a phony Facebook account in her name.
She found four images of oral sex, which were taken down later that day.
On Aug. 21 he wrote in an e-mail:
"i have feeling that by next week ... u will be giving me a blow job ... u know why" "so ur blackmailing me," the victim wrote the next day.
"what is blackmailing," Ibrahim answered.
"telling me if it doesn't get back to the way it was ur gonna put videos of me and u all over the internet... that's blackmail." "ok then ...yeah i guess ...not all over the internet. just face book.
