A hair transplant patient told today how a London doctor left a swear word branded on his head 19 years ago.

Darren Hope, 40, discovered “w****r” had been etched onto his scalp when he shaved his hair almost two decades after the procedure.

He claims the surgeon left two-inch-high capital letters in the back of his head by removing tiny hair roots. Friends discovered it when he took his cap off during a cricket match.

Mr Hope, of Nuneaton, Warwickshire, had the operation done in the capital when he was 21.

He said: “It is about five inches long — I can't believe I never knew. I'd love to sue but the clinic has closed down.”

The electrician has been told the word will remain there for the rest of his life. “I'll have to keep my hair long,” he said.

He spent £7,000 on the treatment at a top London clinic where follicles were removed to cover a bald spot on the crown of his head.

But the cheeky surgeon removed the follicles to spell out of the word ‘W****R’ in 2ins capital letters across the back of his head.

Although the operation gave him a full head of locks, Darren had no idea that his hair contained a swear word.

The ripped out hairs never grew back and unbeknown to Darren he was left with the swear word branded into his head.

I know quite a few wankers and British people and incredibly (or not so incredibly) sometimes they are one and the same, tho most I know are not too bad. I love the BBC too!

And really he seems to have spent alot of money on a failed experiment! Hair is not so important, bald men are sexy!
