Days after her apartment burns down,
Kayla Settle said she's lucky she's alive.
"We lost a lot. It's gone. It's hard," Settle said.
Settle has experience with fires. Only a month ago, someone started a fire outside of her complex using gasoline.
"The fire investigators are saying that we were definitely targeted; we do know that. There's always ideas who would do something like this, but is it a for sure thing? We're not sure," she said.
"We had a fire there last month that was
determined arson and it's
too much of a coincidence to ignore if you have a fire in this close time frame in less than a month for a fire that was arson and occurred at this location. So we're paying special attention to being very thorough with this investigation. However, the cause right now is undetermined," Clifton fire investigator Chris Rowland said.
After the first fire was ruled arson, Settle decided staying in the complex was too risky.
"It's very scary especially when you have two kids. We have found a house. We have a closing date set up and everything," Settle said.
