Joe Dorsey Colclasure slammed the vault door on his hand

Police were called to the bank inside the Albertsons supermarket at 42-095 Washington St. shortly after 8:30 a.m. Monday.The man jumped over the counter at the bank and walked into the vault, where he was spotted by an employee, police said. When the robber tried to slam the door closed, he hurt his hand.
Several employees and a regular customer recognized the man as 25-year-old Joe Dorsey Colclasure of Palm Desert, said Sgt. David Florez.
They were able to keep him distracted until police arrived.
When he was taken to an Indio jail, Colclasure spit at a transporting officer, Florez said.
