I've been through this custody business, though the reason was nowhere near what we see here. As a parent, of either sex, you never take a step back to wait and see. It is difficult to remain civil, but when a child is in the picture you have to rise above that. When I sought custody, I asked my daughter first if she wanted to stay with her mother under that condition. After talking to her, we both went to my company truck, got on the phone and asked her mother. Everything was calm and settled right there. Aside from the legal papers, that is!
