Michael Fisher "shocked" he couldn't grab deputy's gun

After Judge Allen Garbrecht convicted Michael Fisher of two counts of first degree murder and other charges in the shooting deaths of his wife and son, 38 year old Candy Fisher and 12 year old Michael Fisher II, Michael punched nearby sheriff's deputy Scott Eby and attempted to grab his gun. Several people rushed to help and Michael was subdued after being tasered.

Sentencing is set for June 19th and he is also expected to be charged in the horrifying courtroom attack.

After seeing this type of thing happen over and over again..I would think that cuffs in the courtroom would be mandatory.

The only reason he didn't get that pistol was because he pulled it the wrong way. Police holsters are designed so they can't be taken from behind.

In May, after he was convicted of killing his wife and son, Michael Fisher tried to grab a deputy's gun in the courtroom.

Thursday, he threatened to kill the judge who sentenced him to prison.

"I am going to come back and get every last one that did something to me," Fisher told Calhoun County Circuit Court Judge Allen Garbrecht. "I will get you first and then the rest who ran their mouths against me.

"As evil grips me, as hell surrounds me and as man smothers me, I am coming back," Fisher, 43, said.

But then he was sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole for the Dec. 28, 2006 shooting deaths of his wife, Candy Fisher, 38, and his son, Michael Fisher II, 12.

"Justice will be served to sentence you to life without parole," Garbrecht said, as Fisher broke into a grin. "This sentence can't possibly heal the wounds you inflicted on a lot of people. There is nothing more to be said."
