ANd you can use an extreme case to make, about the mother dying, but if that's the case, then sure, that's different. Your example of "its about who lives and dies" is absurd, being that most abortions arent a product of a mother about to die, for God's sake. They're about young women who irresponsibly have sex with young men, and then they decide they're not ready for them.
That's not what LATE TERM abortions are about, and that's what you were going on about near as I could figure. :p Late term abortions ARE about medical necessity, or they don't happen.

Abortion overall? That's a different topic. Yes, I absolutely 100% support the right of women to abort. I have never done so, myself, and have 2 glorious kids, but I would defend that right with my last breath.

    I stand corrected.

Hey- so would you defend that right because you are a woman? Or because you believe terminating a fetus isn't all so bad?

You realize there's a "none of the above" answer to that question, right? :p

Now back to the main topic, I do believe that we should never deliver babies out of convenience, it should be for a condition, which is what I originally said, I do think Doctor's would rather be safe than sorry, and that is not always a bad thing.
I also wanted to point out that last year London had the most partial birth abortions about 300o I believe, they said some babies were born alive but put on a bed pan and left to die. Is that murder? How does a parents intent determine whether or not you get medical intervention when you need it? Most were down because of lifestyle issues they said and you needed two signatures to have them. Can't a woman know by then whether or not she is going to keep the "fetus" or not? It's all bullshit in my mind.
I also think that we use terms lightly to help make us accepting of an issue. I think we talk about abortion like its nothing, like the mother is going to not have regrets, like it doesn't hurt. They stick long sticks of varying sizes getting bigger in your vag, it is not a fun thing. Mentally afterwards is not easy either, you may think it was not a big deal cause it is the option everyone talks about, but you will remember that you stopped a beating heart. You stopped something from having a life. You made that CHOICE. I wanted to add that we tend to view the actual "fetus" itself as the mistake that needs the "fixing" so to speak, when really it is the behaviors that led to that or even the cicumstances. I think this runs off into society and how we view actual children that are here, we look at them as the "reason" for the troubles when they are just unfortunate witnesses or they are the results. When I say We I don't even mean any one in particular just in general, and not me.

I also find that people say, oh why didn't that horrible parent just have an abortion, the end result for the child is the same, we just don't have to read about their abuse and get all fucked up in the head about it. We always have a band-aid fix for everything, similar to our ones on medications, not treating the real issue, just cover it up, may have the same result or not solve our problem in the end, but at least we won't have to see it or deal with it.
Sorry for my rant, abortion is always an emotional subject, I am not against abortion either, I just think sometimes people take having one too lightly.
