PORT CHARLOTTE, FL. - Charlotte County Sheriff's detectives arrested a 72-year-old woman Tuesday after she was released from a local hospital in connection with a statewide counterfeit credit card scheme.
Caridad Suarez of Hialeah, Florida was arrested for Trafficking in Counterfeit Credit Cards and placed on $50,000 bond.
On May 7, a road patrol deputy stopped a minivan on S.R. 776 at Torrence St., Port Charlotte, with a headlight out. This led to the arrest of the driver Carolina Cuadra, 29, and Martin Antonio Garcia, 23, and Christian Martinez-Rio, 26, all of the Miami area. Suarez complained of chest pains and was taken to a local hospital where she has been held until discharge Tuesday; detectives then took her to the Charlotte County Jail.
