Police arrested a grandfather for going into an Omaha day care armed and taking his 4-year-old grandaughter without permission Friday afternoon.

Employees told officers that the grandfather, 49-year-old
Timothy Moore, who was not authorized to pick up the child, walked into the day care. They said
he was concerned about the child's health, as he was notified she was suffering from an asthma attack.
However, a worker tells Channel 6 News that Moore disconnected a breathing treatment device which was being used on the girl, and
said he was taking off with her. They say
he had a knife in his hand; however, he did not threaten them with it.
They drove off in a truck, headed for Immanual Hospital. That's where Moore was arrested for use of a weapon to commit a felony, second-degree assault and kidnapping. Police say the girl was uninjured.
Channel 6 News spoke with Moore's girlfriend, Felicia Calloway. She is the mother of the 4-year-old's father.
Calloway said the girl was having an asthma attack and
when the day care contacted the child's mother, the mother indicated she was too busy to come and handle the situation.
That's when the grandfather stepped in. Calloway said he only wanted to assure his grandaughter received medical treatment, believing that her mother would not take the appropriate steps.
