A 3-year-old boy was killed Tuesday after a woman tossed him from the seventh-floor balcony of her Queens apartment as the child's mother watched in horror, cops and prosecutors said.

In a fit of rage, Xiao Cai, 53, threw Jerry Zhou from the terrace of her Leavitt St. home near 35th Ave. in Flushing about 8:30 p.m., law enforcement sources said.

Cai was arguing with her daughter inside the apartment - which they share with the parents of the young boy - when the fight took a tragic turn, prosecutors said.

"She grabbed the child and then threw the child off the balcony up on the seventhfloor," said Queens District Attorney Richard Brown. "The child landed on the cement."

The crazed Cai - who has a long history of depression and is on medication - attempted to jump to her death from the same balcony immediately after but was held back before she could take the plunge, sources said.


Why oh why didn't she do the reverse scenario first?! Prayers go out to the parents of this little boy.

I am with you on that. Had it been my child I would helped her over the ledge myself. Justice would be her feeling the terror and pain that child suffered.

"He's dead," the relative said of the little boy. "All we can do is pray."

A neighbor said after he heard the terrifying screams next-door, he went out his front door just as the frantic mother - whom sources identified as Xuyun Zhou - sprinted down the stairs.

Once outside, the distraught Zhou picked up her son's body from the sidewalk and wailed his name, the neighbor said.

The toddler, who would have turned 4 next week, was pronounced dead at New York Hospital Queens.

My deepest sympathies to the mother...imagine that horror, i just can't.

This story is almost too much to bear. I couldn't live after seeing my child flung like a rag doll to his death. I sure as hell wouldn't have held her back, I would have given her a fucking kick to the ass,before shoving her over the rails. No fucking way she would have been committed. Buried six feet under, yes, committed, NO!!!!
