Once I heard that (a) you visit two threads "tops" and (b) that religious discourse on this forum has been dominated by "hardline atheists," then it made sense to me that it would seem to you that a majority of this board "hates God." It doesn't make your statement any more accurate, but I could at least understand it. I spend a lot of time in all parts of this forum; in some, I don't post much, but I read them all. Knowing that you probably would not be interested in my personal observation that the proportion of members who "hate God" is much smaller than what you suggested, I thought the results from the site survey might be useful. Considering I work in the survey research field, I am well aware of ways in which survey results can be misleading; however, it would take an act of God to somehow translate the current results into 90% God haters. I also know, from my work in the field, that those with very strong feelings/opinions on a subject are most likely to express those feelings/opinions, which just returns us to Athena's point, and my original concern, which was that you painted ALL the forum members with the same brush because of your interactions with a few. Further, I was happy to see some members who don't usually/have not yet posted much in Three Things step in and voice an opinion--which is why I thanked them, as this can be a scary fucking part of the forum, and you respond with something as mature as "go fuck yourself."
I'm not a swivel groupie. I enjoy some of his posts, and I've enjoyed some of yours as well. I was thinking it might be time for me to join in some of the Three Things discussions, but fuck it. And while SoUncool is certainly capable of sticking up for herself...go fuck yourself. Thanks for making part of this site even more unwelcoming than it was before, prick.

1. to Kathy: we all know mine is bigger, this was established many years ago, before most of the people here were here. its why i am known as julien, donkey boy at leimans school. (insert mother joke here)

Kathy, I'm sorry that my first reply post was so long and seemingly self-serving with my examples of what I've been through with the religion in public school issue in my little hick county. It was meant as empathy and to give you a "I hear ya sistah!" I do hope that you figure out what YOU want to do about the shituation and that you at least got some quasi suggestions and support on this thread. If I wasn't in Hickville, I'd be all up in the school board's shit about all the crap around here. But, alas, me and the kiddo would be harassed shamelessly by the bible-thumpers. Good luck in whatever you decide. I'm sure your ultimate decision will be what is best for your fam.
