Figured I should introduce myself at this point

Well my name is Lisa. I am a mother of two girls. I had both kids before I was 18 and had to grow up fast. I struggled through an abusive relationship but made it out alive. I found a partner in life who has never hurt me and finally learned love doesn't have to hurt.

I was diagnosed with Hidradenitis suppurativa (link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hidradenitis_suppurativa) a few years back. It is a painful illness and it leaves me unable to do a lot of the things I would like to be doing. My computer has become a lifeline to the outside world for me in the past year or so.

My kids are my world and I will suffer through any kind of pain to make them happy. I have seen some of the worst abuse possible growing up in Flint, MI. That is why I have grown to love this site and all the people on here who love children as much as I do.

Well that is all I can think of for now.. Feel free to ask me if I have left something out.

I just learned the other day that Jackson has the highest sexual abuse in the state, the 2nd highest physical abuse and the LOWEST prosecution rate. Jeebus, makes me wonder what possessed us to move here.

I was born and raised in Flint.. As a kid I would beg my mom to move but she always said I couldn't run from my problems. But yeah the city has gone to hell and fast.. I miss the way it was when I was little, mostly old people and bikers lol.

I know about that disease. A doctor diagnosed me with that but it turned out to be falicoulitus-due to staph. I also developed a fistula because of that crap. Took a LONG time to get the right diagnosis on everything but now it's all healed.

Thanks!!It took 7 years from my first symptom to figure out what it was.. Later found out my dad and little sister both have them same thing and both had been misdiagnosed. I am taking some new meds and have a little pain relief but it seems little is being done to stop it.. Just treatment after treatment. It gets old but I am not giving up yet!

Good lord, it sounds awful. And here I've been whining over endometriosis for the last decade. Slap my face and call me sunshine!

Welcome to the Forums, I hope is speedy an true and that you suffer no more. It sounds very painful to me and If i was plagued with it I would have cyst all over me as I break a sweat by making the bed in the A.M.

Thank you all so very much.. I have not been commenting much this past week because I came down with bronchitis. I was feeling horrible and didn't feel up to reading all the stories I usually read. (to busy feeling sorry for myself) So I spent some time reading other parts of the forum and I must say you all made me smile despite my illness. I am so glad I found this site!! I couldn't imagine a day without DD!!!

After reading someone the most random posts here I feel like I know you all a lot better and am looking forward to everybody getting to know me now!! Thank you all for everything you do!! You guys really are the best!
