Aiken County Daycare Worker Charged With Homicide By Child Abuse

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has arrested an Aiken daycare owner accused of the death of a 16-month-old infant male.

Elouise Wade-Meria Taylor, 51, of Saint Johns Church Road, in Aiken, is charged with Homicide by Child Abuse.

According to a SLED arrest warrant, Taylor is accused of shaking the child and causing head trauma, resulting in his death.

These allegations occurred on August 5, 2010 at Taylor’s home in Aiken County.

What are these people thinking? You don't open a day care unless you REALLY love children!!! It is not an easy job and by no means should a person decide to take on other peoples children to make a quick buck.

Children are the new quick buck. If the government and courts can do it, why not everyone else? I'm being sarcastic of course.

I was only being sarcastic about everone being able to do it too. But I'm serious about the first part.

I agree. Daycares, child care, respite care are all things that there really aren't enough of. If you are looking for an opportunity . . . I doubt there is much money in it, and it's too open to abuse, but the demand is high.

another 16 month old boy..again by a day care worker..really people? what is with these trends? is there a way we can screen for crazy fucks and not let them procreate nor be around children?!

people always wonder why i'm so selective about who i let watch my children. stories like this reinforce my fear of anyone watching my kids. those poor parents who lost their baby. what a shame.

This is why my kids will never go to Daycare. I intend to stay home until my children are old enough to be in school. But by then, maybe school will be even more dangerous. Okay, so I am going to be a homemaker until my kids are adults. Yeah. Am I being too overprotective?
