12-year-old Alex Pankey Gets Sex Charges (Again) PLUS Mom Gets Arrested Too!

A 12-year-old boy is facing multiple sex assault charges after authorities say he inappropriately touched a girl who was at least four years younger than than him. His mother was also arrested in connection to the case, accused of knowingly allowing him to violate a protection order that barred him from being alone with children.

The boy, 12-year-old Alex Pankey, was arrested Tuesday on two counts of sexual assault on a child, one count of sexual assault on a child with a pattern of abuse, and two counts of violating a protection order.

Pankey was investigated and charged in four previous child sex assault cases. He was awaiting sentencing for a case he pleaded guilty to when this most recent arrest happened.

The Mesa County Sheriff's Office says because his new charges are class 3 and 4 felonies, they are allowed to release his name but not his mug shot.

An arrest affidavit details two separate occasions when Pankey went to a friend's house, managed to get his friend's young sister alone with him, and then sexually assaulted her.

The girl's parents told deputies Pankey's mother Debra had dropped him off their home multiple times and never once mentioned his criminal history or the protection order. They also say when they confronted her about the allegations their daughter was making, she told them nothing like this had ever happened before and asked them not to report it.

If it's the same one I'm thinking of, he was the victim of rape about two years ago and never really recovered. He has had a skewed sense of boundaries and right and wrong ever since. Moved out of the neighborhood about two months ago. Little Alex is how I know him...if it is him- never knew his last name. Damn!! Didn't know about the charges against HIM. Just knew he had been a victim previously. The 14yo perp got time and probation. Little Alex had to testify against him in court, and he lost some "friends" over it- others who thought he had made up the charges for attention.

Oddly enough kids that young are sex offenders AFTER having been sexually abused – it is a terrible cycle – I don’t wonder if some horrible things happened to this kid to get him to behave this way? It seems to me that 12 is a little young to be hypersexual – it is not unheard of but just the same . . . this kid needs help asap before he becomes another blight on society

This little fucker already is a sexual predator... This is really scary because we already know you can't fix this. What the hell do we do with a twelve year old once he is this broken. I with you Ninja I like to think we can fix them when they are this young. I don't think juvenile hall is the best place for kids who break the law. But sexual predator at 12 years old!!!

I can't believe that bitch let her son play with other kids knowing his history. What is even more astonishing to me is that she told the victim's parents that the child had never done anything like that before and requested that they not report the abuse. SHE needs to be extinguished. The kid probably doesn't have much of a chance.

My husbands niece was molested by the son of a family friend who wasn't suppose to be around children due to prior charges for sexual abuse on a child. His mom was babysitting the girl and decided that it would be ok to leave him to babysit while she went to pick up someone from the airport, that was all the time he needed to permanently damage a 9 yr old girl.

This story also reminded me of an event that happened about 10 years ago. I was babysitting for a woman that my husbands boss knew. She was low income and couldn't afford child care so I offered to do it for free since I was a stay at home mom anyways. The second day of watching her son I asked him to go upstairs and play while I cleaned and his response was "I'm not allowed to be alone with children"...what??? The boy was 10 yrs old and NOT allowed to be alone with other kids?
I asked him why, he said his mom told him not to tell. So I called the bitch at work, and she refused to tell me...needless to say I never watched him again. A few years later I found out he had raped his infant cousin with an object when he was 7 and that's why he couldn't be alone with kids, not only that but his mom was arrested for sexually abusing him as well.

Fuck, I love my kids with every ounce of my being but nothing would cause me to look they other way while they hurt someone else.

definitely lock this bitch up and throw away the key - not only did she fail her son miserably, but she endangered the welfare of others by refusing to tell anyone or stop him from being around other children. i can understand wanting to protect your kids but there comes a time when you have to let them suffer the consequences.she enabled his behavior and facilitated the progress of what is obviously some sort of mental d/o - someone posted on here that the child may have been sexually violated himself.i agree that this boy has little to no chance of rehabilitaion since the cycle has been perpetuated for years as evidenced by his history.very very sad

A new guy in the neighborhood had moved in down the street and would always offer to take him bowling or to the arcade, ice cream, pool, u name it. The mom was on disability and would do anything to get rid of him for a few hours (he had major ADD). Anywho ~ one day when he was waiting at his bus stop, the creepy guy picked him up and ended up taking pics of him in a shower and God knows what else. It was horrible to find out ( I was like 15 at the time ).

After reading the statistics posted ^^, its good to see it is not TOO common for the cycle but this particular case, this kid is screwed. Right before I moved to AZ, you could just feel the wierdness he started to give off. He gave a wierd and violent vibe... started getting into a lot of trouble at school and with the cops. Its awful he was molested but his mother didnt do a damn thing about it either. I sort of blame her for what he turned into because she cried and turned her cheek from it all. I know for a fact I will see his face here on the DD one of these days.... thats the sad part.

Honestly, it breaks my heart and angers me when the victim becomes the victimizer.
They should know better than anyone the pain it causes. In the same breath,it appears this "mother" has done nothing to get her son any kind of help,and is refusing to keep him away from other kids. When you have a parent like this, it certainly doesn't help.

Not that previous victimization is a free pass to behave this way, but it would have explained alot. I did some searching, and this boy does have some brain issues. They are sending him to Denver for a psych eval. Why Denver I don't know; we have a pretty good psych ward here...actually, two of them. There are specialists in Denver, apparently, that will be better equipped to evaluate him.

I hope Mommy Dearest is REAL proud of herself. I wonder what the HELL SHE THOUGHT SHE WAS DOING? We have been putting alot on the boy, which he deserves, but she was just as much at fault for this. She never should have let him near those kids and certainly not the little girl. Jumpin' Jesus, where was her common sense?!!

(BTW, yes, there was a young man, who I know, that was a victim, but it wasn't this boy. At least, he's not the victim I know. He could very well have been a victim himself. Found some interesting info on this one. Apparently he was a pretty successful little motocross racer, but his "career" seems to end before all this trouble began. I wonder why?)
