A Grand Junction man is behind bars after allegedly providing marijuana to his six and seven-year old daughters.

Jack Dalton Duke was arrested after his daughter told her principal her dad "blows smoke in her face" when she doesn't feel well.

She described to her principal how her dad lights the pipe for her, and how she inhales the marijuana smoke.

Mesa County Sheriff's investigators visited the home to find unfit living conditions for the girl and her three siblings.

Last week his 6-year-old daughter was caught in the school bathroom trying to start a fire with a lighter and toilet paper.

She told her principal that she smokes marijuana with her dad and knew how to inhale.

According to the arrest affidavit, Duke admitted to investigators that he taught his girls how to smoke pot.

Duke is currently registered as a sex offender and has a previous convictions of sexual abuse on a child.

For all we know, he won his RSO award for being with a 17 year old or flashing his ass at homecoming when he was 19. What the hell would the mom have to do with that? However, if the 6 and 7-yr olds know about and participate with pot smoking in the home, sure bet is that mom knows about it.

don't know bout laws where he is but in NC it's a big no no-even for them to be around any minors- even his own kids

case in point: my older daughter's bio-dad got with a lola (teen) and is now an RSO... he is not to be allowed alone with any minors (his or not) and i was told by LE his stipulations...my child was not allowed unsupervised visits with him even though he messed with a teenager and not a baby/child

On its own the RSO status could be anything, but it also says he has convictions for sexual abuse on a child...based on that I agree he shouldn't have even been around the kiddos.

They are called "stipulations" for a reason. Stipulations, by definition, are usually not part of the law but laid out as part of an agreement on a case-by-case basis. An RSO with offenses against adult women is usually no danger to children. Just because someone is a rapist does not mean they are a pedophile. Only if they are deemed a danger to kids are they banned from seeing their own kids.
