LA - Responding to a call of a large fight in progress, Houma Police arrested Melanie O. White, 20, for possession of marijuana and aggravated assault after learning that she tried to hit several people on a sidewalk with her Kia Optima.

White told police, however, that she was driving in the area when she saw several people. White said that she was “beefing” with the people from a few days earlier, and she pulled her car over to speak with them; then a fight erupted. She said she never tried to hit the pedestrians.

While investigating the scene, police discovered a clear plastic bag containing marijuana in White’s car.
