Reggie Peck Accused Of Repeat Felony Offense Against Her Children

FARMINGTON -- A mother who attempted to kill her two toddlers in 2009 in Cache County has been accused of doing the same thing in South Weber.

Reggie Ann Peck, 35, of North Logan, appeared in 2nd District Court in Farmington on Wednesday. She is charged with two counts of child abuse and two counts of surreptitious administration of certain substance, all second-degree felonies.

The charges stem from an Aug. 30 incident, at which she gave her daughters a controlled substance to make them sleep so she could take their lives and her own, said Davis County Sheriff's Detective Jon West.

West said, "Injuries were found on one of the children consistent with an attempt to take their life."

Peck is being held in the Davis County Jail on no bail. A bail hearing is set for 9 a.m. Oct. 6. Judge David M. Connors also signed a protective order stating Peck will have no contact with her two daughters.

Deputy Davis County Attorney Kathy Sjoberg said in court that no bail is warranted because this is the second time Peck has "tried to kill her children."

Peck is currently on probation in 1st District Court in Cache County. She entered a plea in abeyance in that district's mental health court on Jan. 20 to two counts of second-degree felony surreptitious administrating of certain substance, and two two class B misdemeanors.

A plea in abeyance means if the defendant complies with the terms of probation at the end of probation the charges will be dropped.

Former Logan woman charged with drugging kids headed to court
BOUNTIFUL, Utah (AP) - A Utah mother accused of drugging her two daughters with an antidepressant is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

Thirty-five-year-old Reggie Ann Peck is scheduled to be arraigned in 2nd District Court on felony charges of child abuse and administering a substance surreptitiously.

Peck was arrested Aug. 30 when deputies found her and the two girls parked for a second day off a road in South Weber. After refusing to unlock the car, police say Peck cut one child's wrist and begged police to shoot her. When Peck began to slit her own throat, deputies broke the car windows and rescued the children.

Utah mom pleads guilty to drugging daughters

Farmington • A northern Utah woman accused of drugging her two young daughters with anti-depressants and attempting to cut their wrists pleaded guilty Wednesday to reduced criminal charges.

A tearful Reggie Ann Peck, 36, entered guilty pleas to one count each of inflicting serious harm on a child and administering a substance surreptitiously in 2nd District Court in Farmington.

The plea avoids trial, and Davis County prosecutors agreed to drop two other charges.

Peck faces a 15-year prison term for each charge at sentencing July 27.

The girls are in the custody of their father, Kevin Scott Peck, and are doing well, he said.

Court records show the couple divorced last November.

Logan mother sentenced for drugging children

A Logan mother who pleaded guilty to drugging her two daughters was sentenced Wednesday to 15 years in prison.
Reggie Ann Peck, 35, was given two concurrent sentences of 15 years each. Peck was arrested Aug. 30 when deputies found her and the two girls parked for a second day off a road in South Weber.

She refused to unlock the car, cut the wrist of one child, begged deputies to shoot her and began to slice her own throat, sheriff's detective Jon West said in charging documents. A probable cause statement says Peck had administered perscription pills to her children to "sedate them to a level of unconsciousness.”
Deputies broke the windows and rescued the children.

On June 15, Peck pleaded guilty to intentionally injuring a child and administering a substance.

OMG, why in the hell didn't she have her parental rights terminated immediately after she tried to kill them the first time?!? Who in their right mind would give custody of those kids back to her after she ALREADY TRIED TO KILL THEM???? Either some laws need to be revamped there, or there are a lot of CPS people who need to be fired for shear fucking stupidity.
