Mom Fights Cops After 7-yo Son Killed In Crash

Sorry I give this one to mom, best friends son was 9 and killed in accident her and her 6 yo barely survived and she was fighting them not to move him even as she was bashed up
SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. - A 7-year-old boy was killed when a pickup crashed Saturday evening southwest of Arlington, and the boy's mother fought with medics and deputies who responded to the scene of the crash, officials said.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene, near the intersection of Forty 5 Road and McRae Road NW, at about 4 p.m., said Lt. Rodney Rochon of the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.

When they arrived, the woman who had been driving at the time of the crash was found outside the pickup. She began struggling with deputies and had to be forcibly restrained and strapped to a gurney. She was later taken to the hospital.
An eyewitness who lives near the crash site said the woman appeared to be in shock and was telling neighbors at the scene that another vehicle cut her off, which caused the crash.

"She was wanting to know - where was the car that cut her off," said the witness.
An investigation found that the pickup had veered off the roadway as it headed along McRae Road, then crashed into a utility pole, a large rock and a light pole before rolling over on its side.

Three children were inside the vehicle. The 7-year-old boy was partially ejected from the passenger side window and was killed when the pickup rolled over.
The other two children, a 5-year-old boy and 3-year-old girl were taken to the hospital for treatment and observation.

Deputies were not immediately sure what caused the crash. They said the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
However, a witness who lives in the neighborhood said the mother appeared to be in shock after the crash and that could explain her unusual response when deputies arrived.

"I think she was just in shock. I mean, who wouldn't be?" said the witness, Lisa, who asked that her last name not be published. "She just got into an accident with her kids - her baby died. ... I'd be freaking out, too."
Lisa told KOMO News that she helped the mother pull her two surviving children from the wreckage. She said both appeared to be belted in, and had no obvious injuries.
Officials said all three kids who were in the car were the children of the driver.

I don't know, I would be so upset I would be screaming for God and anyone to come and help my child and not fighting with them to not move him. I would be fighting with them not to take me until I knew my chlildren were okay or at least transported.

I hope they don't charge her for Battery on Leo. I doubt they would, the public would have a field day.

Oh man, my auntie and I drove by there today doing errands.( she bribes with preserves and Im her slave) Whew, its pretty damn sad. But the moms reaction reminded us of my cousin wrecking his car down a ravine, and he fought the cops, the paramedics, was convinced they were going to toss him out the helicopter. His back was broken!!! It was crazy. No booze/drugs involved. Some people react very strangely and out of character due to traumatic shock. And let me tell you, the cops out there are not known for sensitivity in situations like this.

How devastating! My greatest fear is losing my son in a car accident (for good reason, car accidents are the number 1 killer of children age 1-14). I can't even begin to imagine how badly I would go off the deep end. If there were no drugs/alchohol involved then my heart goes out to this mother. I am so thankful that I ran across car seat info and bought my son car seats that hold up to 65lbs. I've considered getting him one that holds up to 80lbs depending on how tall he is. Poor kid will be the only one in the 3rd grade getting buckled into a 5pt harness lol. Hell, the way they do it around here he'll probably be the only one at preschool getting buckled into a 5pt harness. I was just talking about getting him a high back booster for my friends car for the 1 day/night a week he spends with her when he turns 4 in a few months because it's such a pain to move the car seat back and forth. Looks like we'll be dealing with the monster seat even though he'll probably be 40lbs by then (an according to FL law can legally ride in just a seatbelt..gag). Anyway..RIP sweet boy :(.
