Where Is Little Lauryn Dickens?
MEMPHIS, TN – Where is little Lauryn Dickens? The toddler’s mother has been taken into custody and neighbors, in the apartment complex where she lived, want some answers. “The woman upstairs baby is missing… and they believe she had something to do with it.” That’s the way Charlie Mae Thomas, who lives in the apartment beneath toddler Lauryn and her mother Shakara, described the situation.
Shakara Dickens has been taken into custody for aggravated child abuse—but, not yet formally charged in the disappearance of her toddler.
Last June, Marlon Thomas went missing from the same Raleigh Village Apartments.
Despite their close proximity, Charlie Mae Thomas and the Dickens were strangers. “No, I had never seen them,” Thomas said. But she had heard them. “I had heard some little paddling feet, but never did see who the lady was, nor the baby,” said Thomas.
Thomas said, when police converged on her apartment building to investigate, “I was shocked, I didn’t know what was going on. I’m still like in a daze. I can’t believe this was going on.”
So far, police are treating little Lauryn’s disappearance as a missing person’s case—nothing more at this point. No charges have been field and nobody’s talking. Leaving the toddler’s location a mystery, and the neighbors' imaginations to run wild.
“I had heard somebody say they had smelled a foul odor,” said Charlie Mae, “So that was brought to my attention.” Could she compare that smell to anything? “Something dead to me, you know.
