Springs Police Identify Child In Photos
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A Colorado Springs man was arrested after police said they traced child porn images from a trash bin.
Police said they arrested Rocky Jay Duggan, 52, on Tuesday following an investigation that began when a citizen reported finding sexually explicit images of a juvenile female discarded in the trash on Aug. 20, according to the Colorado Springs online police blotter. Police did not say where the trash bin was located.
Officers collected photos and other evidence from the trash receptacle and turned them over to the police department's Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.
"Investigators were able to eventually identify the child depicted in the photos and a follow-up investigation revealed that the child had been sexually assaulted over a number of years by Dugan," said Lt. Jane Anderson in a news release.
Police did not say how old the child is.
Dugan was taken into custody without incident for investigation of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, Anderson said.
