A missing 2-year-old girl found in a neighbor's pool Wednesday morning was pronounced dead at a hospital, sheriff's officials said.
People in the gated community of Westlake Estates searched for Isabelle Rose Goforth after she was reported missing Wednesday morning.
Officials said a neighbor later found her in a nearby pool.
An ambulance was called to a home on Fallsbrook Court after 10 a.m.
"Our folks took over CPR from the neighbors who had started CPR on the child. In addition, we had to make sure that this was the same child who was missing," Lawrence Bettencourt from the South Placer Fire Department said.
Goforth was taken to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
The Placer County Sheriff's Office said the child's death appears to be accidental.
The circumstances of the drowning are under investigation.
