A George man who authorities say spied on women employees in a bathroom where he worked has been sentenced in Lyon County District Court.
Fifty-five-year-old John Elias of George was accused of spying on women employees of Sanford Hospital, Rock Rapids through peepholes in an employee bathroom
. He was arrested by the Lyon County Sheriff's Office on December 27 on charges of invasion of privacy, third-degree theft, and tampering with evidence.
Sheriff Blythe Bloemendaal says Elias, who was a hospital employee at the time, drilled two holes in a heating duct to spy on the women.
When deputies installed a camera to catch the perpetrator, Elias found it, stole it, destroyed it, and disposed of it
in a dumpster in Sibley, according to the Sheriff.
Elias plead not guilty in February.
