Boyfriend arrested on suspicion of murder; woman's body was found near 15 Freeway
SAN BERNARDINO - Sheriff's homicide investigators have arrested a man on suspicion of killing his girlfriend and dumping her body in the desert.
Detectives arrested 23-year-old Tyrell Webb, a transient from San Bernardino, after locating him at a friend's apartment in Highland on Friday. He was booked into the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
Webb is suspected of killing 20-year-old Thaisha Rameau, of Rialto, in her car, then driving the dead woman in her own car to the High Desert and dumping her body on Dale Evans Parkway, west of the 15 Freeway, then drove the car back to Rialto, parked the car in front of the victim's home, and fled, Bell said.
A cause of death is unclear. An autopsy will be performed Monday, Bell said.
A man collecting brass discovered Rameau's body about 11:48 a.m. Wednesday and called police.
Rameau was killed inside her car, which was parked when the slaying occurred, Bell said. He said the killing may have occurred in Rialto or San Bernardino.
