Parents of a Homestead daycare center are reeling after accusations an employee molested a kid a the facility.
Edgar Jacinto Cerezo, 66, is charged with two counts of sexual battery on a minor and appeared in court on Friday. A judge denied bond for Cerezo, who is the husband of Clara Cerezo, owner of Clara L. Cerezo Family Child Care Center.
A sign on the daycare's door stated the facility will be closed indefinitely.
According to the arrest affidavit, Cerezo fondled a 4-year-old girl in one of the administrative offices of the daycare.
The 4-year-old told investigators that on more than one occasion, Cerezo called her into an office and inserted his fingers into her vagina. He also grabbed the girl's breasts and butt, the report reads.
The girl eventually told her mother, who reported it to police.
It's unclear when the alleged incidents took place, but authorities arrested Cerezo near his Miami home on Thursday.
