ATLANTA -- An Atlanta pizza shop owner used razor blades to stop thieves from stealing his flat screen TVs.
Johnny's Pizza owner Mike Roseberry said his restaurant was targeted Sunday.
Roseberry said crooks smashed his glass window and door.
Although Atlanta police said Monday no arrest had been made in the case, the thieves only got away with a couple of rolls of quarters.
The most expensive items in Roseberry's restaurant, seven 42-inch TVs, were not taken.
Roseberry thinks the crooks steered clear of the mounted monitors once they realized dozens of razor blades were glued along the edge of the TV frames.
"Between these two right here, there are 100 razor blades," said Roseberry.
Roseberry said he got the idea after seeing the same crime happen over and over again to other business owners.
"Watching news reports, guys run in, in five minutes they are flying out of there. I just figured the first guy that grabs a TV and gets cut is just going to leave," said Roseberry.
Not even frequent customers realized the razor sharp TVs.
"Wow! That’s a smart idea. You can't even see it from right here," said customer Shakaya Dieudonne, as she sat at a table.
Roseberry said in the tough economy, he's just trying to protect his piece of the pie.
"I don’t want to see anyone get hurt and I don’t want to lose my TVs either," said Roseberry.
He said the TVs were securely mounted high enough on the wall so customers won't be harmed by the razor blades.
